well lets take an almost broke footballer like di maria as an example
he joined Madrid at the age of 22 and makes 1.8 a season
assuming that he retires at 32, he would have made 18 millions in his career
now lets compare that with a spanish citizen
the average person in spain makes around 40,000 a year
mutiply that by 65, meaning that this person was already working at birth
that would amount to a whooping 2.6 m in a lifetime, or what the average benchwarmer makes in a big team
