Here's what I don't like about fk defense for arsenal... It's not man marking. They all sit close to goal and wait for the opponent to make their runs in before picking them up. It's a recipe for disaster. Who came up with that defensive idea?

it's zonal...

It's too close to goal. You go zonal if the opponent is around the box line. Not when they're so close To goal already, you don't have time to pick people up!

Problem is the duels. You need to win 90% of the one-on-one duels as a defender and know you have backup if you gamble. Arsenal defending is all about hit or miss. Defensive technique is shockingly bad by djourou.
