Robben a problem?
Bayern Munich will have a problem when Arjen Robben returns to fitness - Bernd Schuster
I see where he is coming from. Robben acts very selfish more often than not and he keeps the ball too long before running at the defence. Ribery loves to dribble like him but he passes to teammates/ knows when to let go. I don't see Robben as a big problem though, he just needs to adapt to a more counter attacking style. His game at Chelski or RM weren't that much different
linkThe former Real Madrid tactician has claimed that the Bavarian giants may struggle to maintain their impressive momentum when the 27-year-old returns
Bernd Schuster believes Bayern Munich might have a problem on their hands when Netherlands winger Arjen Robben returns to full fitness.
The former Chelsea man is currently out with a back problem and could spend up to a month on the sidelines, according to club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt.
Bayern have coped well with the player's absence, hammering Freiburg 7-0 on Saturday in the Bundesliga and Schuster believes the team are better off without Robben.
"I do think that Robben is a problem for Bayern this year. I think the philosophy of the team is different under Jupp Heynckes. Robben is incredibly stubborn," the former Real Madrid coach told Sport1.
"He does what he wants to do, regardless of [Mario] Gomez and [Franck] Ribery's positions. Of course he has class, but this is a problem. Their game at the moment is fluid, he may slow it down."
The former Germany international has been out of work since March after leaving Turkish club Besiktas and has stated he would be interested in the Hamburg job, with current coach Michael Oenning under increasing pressure.
"If a coach has no job, HSV are always interesting. At some point I'd like to be back in the fold in Germany. I have had two or three opportunities to come to Germany. Two years ago I spoke with Bernd Hoffman [Hamburg's former president] about the HSV job," he added.
Schuster's last stint in the Bundesliga was during the 1998-99 season when he was in charge of Koln before leaving for Spanish side Xerez.

Re: Robben a problem?
I don't think Robben is stupid. He'll get used to the style if he has to. Really, it's Robben. Apart from selfishness what playing ability does he lack?
He'll rip it up during counter attacks.

It is more that Robben's constant injuries are a problem...

Re: Robben a problem?
If we go by his recent record, he has 1 annoying injury starting the season, then fires up and plays the rest of the season without too much problems.

Re: Robben a problem?
Well, let's hope that's the case for this season, too. It's a real shame that Robben can't play through a whole season fully healthily. He should take an example in Phillip Lahm.

Re: Robben a problem?
Yup. He had some groin inflammation. That's why he only came on in the very last minute against ManCity, too. Looks like he still needs to catch up a bit fitness-wise.

Re: Robben a problem?
He wasn't great but it's normal since he was like a month out. Hoffenheim were playing really well, too. And our midfield was clearly fatigued.

Re: Robben a problem?
Müller was as his flexible best, playing three positions on Saturday. Unfortunately he didn't score, but that was due to the whole team (including him) looking somewhat tired.

What to do with Robben?
His pubic bone problems continue...
and then
I'd sell him if I were Bayern for 20-25 millions to some other club. Shaqiri, Hazard, Götze and co. are viable replacements. Or Bayern could give Usami and Alaba more playing time in his stead
SourceThe Dutchman returned to training earlier this week and completed an intense sprints session on Thursday, but his injury woes resurfaced on Friday.
and then
SourceAfter an examination from the Bavarian club's medical staff, the former Real Madrid man has been given the all-clear to resume his rehabilitation from the troublesome injury.
The pain Robben experienced on Friday is said to be a natural reaction after not training for over a month.
Bayern face champions Borussia Dortmund next weekend in the Bundesliga, yet it is unlikely that Robben will feature in the game, despite being told he is fine to continue training.

Re: Robben a problem?
Chill, dude
There are a lot of games to be played and Robben will be needed for the CL. He's our secret weapon.
If he's heavily injured again, I might consider selling him by year's end... but only if a really good replacement is found. We just can't afford to lose him right now, especially with the 0 depth we have.
Nice sig, BTW

Re: Robben a problem?
There is no replacement for Robben, it will be very difficult finding a replacement. at best we could consider Vargas or Reus

Re: Robben a problem?
Inevitably. Right in peak form after CL final seasons and all, while Juve was barely in Europa league... Juve rumors are silly.Immortal Babun wrote:Which leads me to the question, was Juve linked with him?
Robben stated that he is keeping his option open, though. So you never know.

Re: Robben a problem?
Robben is still Bayern Munich best player, it's a shame JH cant bring the best out of him
why did Robben reject the possibility of renewing his contract with Bayern Munich.
and where is he heading
and what is about Riberry hitting Robben ,
A clear example is what happened between Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery in the first leg to the white set, when the French did not hesitate to hit the Dutch after the problems due to a launch failure.
