Who in your opinion do you think is a better player?

Pedro is a Barcelona B product, who started out at Tenerife side San Isidro and joined Barcelona at the age of 17, he started out a Henry's understudy in the 08/09 treble winning season, making a late sub appearance in the final for Iniesta. He however finished that season with 10 goals for the B side but none for the senior side.
He gained full promotion to the senior side in the 09/10 season, where he went on to score 23 goals in 52 appearances in so doing, he became the first player to score in six different club competitions in one season, and helped Barcelona annex 6 trophies in a calendar year.
He continued his fine form into the next season where he scored 22 goals in 54 appearances including the opener in the final match against Manchester united.

Benzema long been touted the next Zidane, he started off his career at an early age in the Lyon academy, he made his debut at the age of 17 in 2005, and went on to score his first Champions league goal a season later. The 2007/2008 season was his breakthrough season at Lyon he scored 4 goals in the Champions league including one against Manchester United, he won the French player of the season that year and was shortlisted for the Ballon D’or award, which was eventually won by Ronaldo. He ended the season with 31 goals in 52 appearances. In the 2008/2009 season he had another impressive season scoring 23 goals in 48 appearances including, including 5 in 8 in the Champions league for Lyon.

He moved to Real Madrid in the 09/10 season, where he had a poor season scoring just 9 goals in 33 appearances, he got his chance last season when a long term injury to Higuain handed him the starting slot in Real Madrid. He took it with a bang, scoring 26 goals in 48 appearances including 6 in the Champions League, in all he has 19 goals in 32 Champions league appearances.

Different positions, different skillset, Benzema vs Villa would be more comparable?

I would take Benzema, he has a lot more untapped talent and is at LEAST Pedro's equal in skill atm.

They're both basically strikers who play in different positions, and are judged based on their goal scoring prowess so the argument is pretty valid. Villa spent a lot of last season on the left wing if I recall correctly.

If Benzema is so much better than Pedro why has Benzema not done anything of note vs Barcelona? He scored a tap in from a failed clearance and what 1 assist? Pedro is extremely underrated + he has a WC 2 Champions Leagues and 3 La Liga titles already

Ok bro. Stop saying "if he is so good why hasn't he done anything against Barca". That is such a stupid argument . He played extremely well in both supercopa matches. In the classicos last season he either didn't start or was left hung out to dry by the team , stranded up front. Finally a player's worth is not measured by how well he does against Barca.

Benzema can play anywhere across the attacking third , has great link up play , and much more complete overall than pedro.Furthermore he has a vast wealth of untapped talent , physically , and skill wise. Pedro is avey refined player and is an excellent finisher , which is something Benzema could use a lesson in.Other than that Benzema is better in every other area.

One Final note Pedro has 2 champions leauges , putting him right on par with Christian Karembreu. Diego Mardona has 0 . Who is better?

yeah he has scored against big teams too, depend if what you consider big game.

Don't make this about Barca, it's about Benzema and playing in big games, other than a clasico what other big game has he played in?

The only big game he didn't perform well in is the 5-0 last year.Against Milan scored in one game , created a goal in the other.Scored against them the year before as well.

Against Valencia , Has had 4 great games.

Against Lyon ,came on and scored instantly, and played a great return leg.

Villareall, Sevilla etc etc.

He has performed well against all these teams.Most importantly he played well AGAINST BARCA 2 weeks ago , creating 1 goal and scoring another , since that means so much to you.

I'm definitely one to question Pedro's place both in Barca and in the NT, I'd tend to lean more towards he is only there because he is a youth product and is only included in the NT due to him being in the Barca squad. Made look good by his peers imo.

Lol you guys are only justifying Lionel messi's claims that Pedro is underrated.I think he'll actually fight off the Sanchez competition. Barca need Pedro's creativity more than Sanchez's speed and creativity.

For Spain , he dosen't really have a place for Mata to take.They are both in the squad and neither start.

Barca need Pedro's finishing, Sanchez isn't a world class finisher like Pedro is.

Pedro, and I don't even rate him that high. I just don't rate Benzema at all. I feel much more comfortable when Real plays against Barca with Benzema rather than Higuain. He's toothless.

Look I like Higuain he is a better finisher but look , you guys massively underrate benzema here. The guys is so complete, great passer , great dribbling crossing shooting , 1st touch , link up play, strength , and he just has a class about the way he plays.

I'll let Karim do the talking.Anyway 29 goals and 6 assists in 31 starts isn't too bad of a opening line.
