Wigan Athletic FC
Will N'Zogbia stay? How much is Dave Whelan willing to give to Martinez after the Boselli saga? Is McCarthy on the move?

Re: Wigan Athletic FC
^Just read that on Sky Sports too.
I'd be really interested in Villa next year if he did get the job. He's got the right mentality, and good enough players to play a great brand of football.

Re: Wigan Athletic FC
They have to sell Nzogbia really or get him to sign a new contract so he doesn't leave on a free.
I personally think Wigan would be better off without Martinez because I do not rate him.
If he goes to villa wigan will get some compensation money and be able to find a better manager.
Alan curbishley would be an amazing appointment for them.

Re: Wigan Athletic FC
Guess they employ anyone these days at Aston Villa, I hardly rate him one bit. He makes Ian Dowie look like a world class manager!
Re: Wigan Athletic FC
Can't believe people are having a go at Martinez.
just look at the squad he has to work with......He's done an amazing job sorting out NZogbia's off the pitch disciplinary stuff, grooming McCarthy and Diame into much better players and spotting Al-Habsi from Bolton reserves.
Wigan is the most passionless club in PL, with fewest fans and it makes it much harder to keep them up as opposed to someone like Wolves where fans are always behind the team.
Martinez plays 4-3-3, with possession football and he gets mediocre players to execute it to some extent.
Guy is still 37, and IMO has a bright managerial career ahead

Really? Dowie bad?
I really like Martinez and would have been interested to see how he would have got on at Villa.

He's a good player.
He's got the attitude of a spoilt kid and the way he left the club last time has left a sour taste in the majority of people that support Newcastle mouth's.
If he left in his attitude in a pie shop in Wigan then i might consider it a good signing but some how i doubt it.

I hear ya, but would that not be a bit unfair on the person who buys the pie.

Wigan are the lowest goal-scorers out of any of the 92 clubs in the Football League.
Their crap manager and shitty squad aren't going to get so lucky this time around
