It's pending on formalities. Paperwork and work permit and all that.
Also bare in mind today's a bank holiday in England. A lot of people have had the day off work. Most of the adminstrative staff at Arsenal are probably included in that.
In other news, Sky Sources (ha) claim we've made an enquiry for Yossi Benayoun.
Really Jay, I would not mind any player now, I just want new players.

I should point out that there is barely any substance to the Benayoun rumours. So for those who really don't want him; don't fret just yet.
I also have an small update on the Chamakh situation: Granada have signed a player today and their head scout sent a message to my ITK friend saying "expect another nice surprise tonight." Could be Chamakh, could be a different player. We'll see.

If this happens, you know for sure we will turn the season around.

Chamakh has been playing shit recently but i still want him to stay because of our inuries. He can leave when we get Vela back or another striker.GoonerJay29 wrote:I should point out that there is barely any substance to the Benayoun rumours. I just get why we don't sign anyone from the dutch league any more, or any eastern European players who are cheap and strong players. I mean we are a poor club thats is why we need cheap players.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
The Eredivise is serisouly starved of top talent these days. Off the top of my head I can think of: Christian Erikson, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld (I think that'd how its spelt), Geroginho Wijnaldum, Ola Toivenen and Bryan Ruiz. That's about it.
Eastern European generally don't do that well in the West, either. There's a lot of money going into the Russian game at the moment as well. So player might not be keen on the move.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Just going through Le Grove's Twitter timeline. Supposedly he's fairly reliable for this stuff:
@LeGrove: We're in for Cahill and a very exciting big money midfielder as well. Watch this space...
@LeGrove: ... And it'll be for a handsome fee. So I won't be taking credit for a 16 year old Ethiopian goat herder if one lands.
@LeGrove: My best source... Not a guarantee he'll sign but we're close on a big money player.
@LeGrove: It's a good player... But not Wesley standards! Think of a top pre2006 like Arsene signing...
And the source?
@LeGrove: For new followers, Pam is the Arsenal Tea Lady. If she's got something, 99% of the time, it's true.
But... take it all with a grain of salt. Or a handful.

@gunnerblog: Ah, now this is interesting: rumours about Brazilian left-back Andre Santos coming to Arsenal.
@DuncanCastles: Borussia Dortmund reject Arsenal offer for Mario Goetze. Asking for €35million for the Germany international.

Benayoun? The *bleep*, we're left with other teams leftovers?
The other rumors sound exciting, but I'm not getting my hopes up unless I see OFFICIAL plastered somewhere.

Rumours of a bid for Goetze flying around on twitter as well as Santos:
http://www.thenational.ae/sport/football/arsenal-are-forced-into-action-as-transfer-deadline-looms
Could be the big player that was being talked about.
EDIT: Seen that jay already posted it, a while ago

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I doubt we'll match Dortmund's asking price for Götze. Would be great to have him, but €35,000,000? Eh, pushing it a bit, I think.
By Wednesday night we could have:
Gary Cahill
Andre Santos
Yossi Benayoun
Park Chu-Young
Maybe. Obviously a lot of issues still to be resolved, but a centre back, a left back, a utillity midfielder and a striker... not that bad, really.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
You never know, it would show a real sign of intent as well as showing that Wenger isn't lying. Although LeGrove just tweeted this:
LeGrove Le Grove
The easiest thing for me to say now is it's Goetze because he's the hottest lead. It's not him though. It's someone else...
so it's not Goetze
