The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
According to the Argentine newspaper La Nacion Lucho has recently stated that "there are ongoing negotiations with Arsenal and it would be nice to go there". Don't know if it has been brought up before, but don't feel like searching through the previous pages.

Who is this guy? What position does he play? Is he good? Is it what we're after?

He's pretty good, can play anywhere in the middle, score lots of goal as well, can't solely rely on him for creativity though, perfect age as in 2 or 3 more years until Rambo or Jack truly step up. Problem is the price, OM paid 18 mil euro for him 2 years ago, won't leave for anything less than 12-13 mil I would say.

the player yes as he is brilliant, but considering he would want 200k a week + what it would cost to sign him there would be no chance.
Id love just to see M'Vila,Gotze And Gary Cahill and dreaming to get Tevez on loan

The media gives us hope, Arsenal breaks our hearts, the funny thing is they both lie.

Arsenal want Mikel Arteta and would be willing to pay 10 million euros for the Spaniard, say AS.
This is a great signing, I hope we sign him.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Arsenal seem to finally be making some real efforts to sign a top player the day after they qualified for the Champions League group stages. It’s being reported that they have put in a bid for Rennes’ Yann M’Villa.
According to the Guardian Arsenal had a previous bid of £15 million rejected for the holding midfielder and have now put in a second improved bid.
M’Villa is a 21-year-old defensive midfielder who has played 11 games for the French national team. He has been with Rennes since 2004, making his senior debut in 2009 and has played in 85 games for the club.
The bid, if it goes through, would break Arsenal’s record for an incoming player but Wenger will feel it’s worth it since his midfield has looked fragile when Alex Song isn’t available.
Meanwhile Arsenal are still keeping an eye on Eden Hazard of Lille to fill the creative role in midfield as well as a defensive player. Targets that could be acquired include, Everton’s Phil Jagielka, Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Birmingham’s Scott Dann.
It’s been speculated that Arsenal could not announce any transfer news because prospects wanted to wait and see if Arsenal qualified for the group stages of the Champions League. Since that has been achieved Gunners’ fans will hope that their club can attract some top new players that were previously on the fence about joining Arsenal.

We don't need a DM, although M'Vila is really good.. Frimsong is great.. However, this could be two goals in one shot.. We might sign him to strengthen our midfield as well as use Song as a back up CB..

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Skysports.com understands Arsenal have entered the race for France's latest teenage sensation M'Baye Niang.
Niang is regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe after breaking into the Caen first-team last season at the age of 16.
The 6ft frontman only made his first-team debut in April and scored three goals in seven games.
His emergence has attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe with Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool all credited with an interest in Niang.
Spanish giants Real Madrid have also made an enquiry for Niang with Real's director of football Zinedine Zidane hoping to lure the youngster to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real are thought to have offered Caen €11million for Niang and are ready to loan him back to the Ligue 1 outfit as they look to win the race for his signature.
However, Arsenal have expressed an interest in Niang, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger keen to bring the forward to the Emirates.
Wenger is believed to have made an enquiry to Caen manager Franck Dumas to be kept informed on Niang's situation and he is hoping his French connections will help in his bid to sign the youngster.
The Frenchman has shown at Arsenal his talent for unearthing and developing young players with potential and he could now move for Niang before the close of the transfer window.

Extremely overrated and overpriced.
He wouldn't fit into our system at all. He'd screw up every build up by shooting from 50 yards out.
