Why has it always to be about x>y??
Why not just enjoy that there are a lot of great young players that are not easy to compare since they are so different and it is far too easy to tell who will have the better career anyway.
Saying that Götze is better than Naymar only because he plays in the Bundesliga is just as stupid as saying that Götze will never be as good as Wilshere because he is playing in the EPL and not in the Bundesliga.

He is the best player in South America, just because he doesnt play in Europe doesnt mean hes not as good as gotze.Ronaldinho raping?Overweight?you have no idea what your talking about, and dont come with the "top-scorer" bs because he mostly scored tap ins, penalties and free kicks.Immaculate_Mole wrote:Ganso wrote:oh if that was neymar these forums and the media would go in meltdown .....

No it's not about Panama Papers.
However, Mario Götze has been told by Ancelotti to leave if he seeks more playing time next season according to SZ. Ancelotti himself told him that he can't promise more playing time than he already has.
Liverpool have shown the most interest so far but apparently Juventus and Arsenal have been sniffing around too.
This one won't be resolved until after the Euros I think.

It's clear that he's very good but he didn't suit Pep's style. In a more direct team he is a beast

Also, please correct me if I am wrong but didn't Klopp mentioned his need for fast wingers? To my knowledge, Mario isn't particularly quick.

Re: Mario Gotze
Klopp did indeed say that the squad lacked proper wide players several months ago. Since then though we've shifted our play style a bit and some of our attackers have found a bit of form, so those concerns (while still no doubt present) may have lifted slightly. Also, Klopp is also still a keen fan of Götze and interested in a reunion, if every single journalist (reliable and otherwise) is right. The two targets aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.
And besides, you can't argue that it wouldn't be massively entertaining to see Morte's meltdown if Liverpool go into next season without a big targetman (Benteke sold) and any "true wingers" other than Markovic and Ibe/Ojo...

Wouldn't it be totally dependent on who matches Bayern's offer unless Dortmund and Bayern have already fleshed out an agreement of sorts. You know, since the whole Hummels thing.

Re: Mario Gotze
Given his contract situation Bayern may not be too concerned about price, especially if he has, as reported, been told he can look elsewhere for regular playtime. If Götze asks for a specific move and the club he desires gets near Bayern's asking price, they may well accept. Though yes, there is always the chance that the Hummels move could help things along.Doc wrote:Wouldn't it be totally dependent on who matches Bayern's offer unless Dortmund and Bayern have already fleshed out an agreement of sorts. It's really not though. The fans may not want him back (for now) but the club's actual hierarchy have made it pretty clear through multiple channels that they're quite interested regardless. They probably assume (and are probably correct, to some degree) that if they DO resign him and he does well the fans will ultimately forgive him. Prodigal son, and all that.Don't call me James wrote:Goetze ain't going to Dortmund. It's already been established.

This, IMHO, just remember the Gomez transfer; he was coming off a record-setting season, scoring-wise, cost Bayern 35m when he came, yet was sold for 17m to Fiorentina because he wanted to go there, and Bayern thought keeping the peace was worth not shaking any club down for more money.

I can see a return for Götze if Mkhitaryan doesn't extend his contract with Dortmund.

Re: Mario Gotze
I can see the Dembele-transfer being the one that makes Dortmund think they don't have to bid crazy money for Götze, though. I do hope he goes back there, of course, but he might not. They might just seriously up Mkhitarian's pay with what they don't have to pay for a theroetical Götze transfer.
I would really love for them to extend Mkhitarian and sign Götze now, though. They do still need a Hummels replacement, even if they don't need a direct one (they can for example use Ginter as a replacement for Hummels, but then they need to replace Ginter, so to speak)...
Gonna be a bumpy ride.

Whatever happened to Subotic? I know he was out with injury for quite sometime. Has he featured at all this season?

Re: Mario Gotze
Miki is Dortmund's best player this season.
If Goetze comes he will probably take the 10 over Kagawa.
So you have -
Auba
Reus Goetze Miki
# Dembele as sub who can play CF, 10, LW, RW, so he will start in almost every match with rotation counting injuries to players like Goetze, Reus who are injury prone.
I think Dortmund a decent winger, fast to add depth concerning their injury issues & 3 competitions - Pulisic is probably gonna be that guy or they have someone else.
I hope they don't sell Ramos, he is a decent 2nd or 3rd choice CF & decent for BL matches.
The problem will replacing Gundogan at CM, who will partner Weigl? Castro, Sahin? No1 has the technicality, skill, poise, etc that a Gundogan brings!
