Re: Breaking Bad
Many people would have liked another season but it would have been too much imo. Maybe a couple of episodes .. just to see Jesse and the others a few years later.Albiceleste wrote:I would have loved another season. Still completely satisfied though. Never felt so much while watching television.
Bravo Vince
BrBa And to say that i've hesitated for a long time to watch just because i thought that Bryan aka Malcom's father was not a great actor .. Shame on me .

Re: Breaking Bad
What a great finale that was. tied up all the loose ends, left nothing unanswered.
When I have the time, I'm gonna re-run the entire show.
Amazing show.

Here is a little stat for you, the Finale broke BB's viewership number but that is still half of what Duck Dynasty gets

What happened to Huell, ted, saul, the ginger etc, but who really cares?Blue Barrett wrote:Whatever happened to Lydia's daughter?
Some of you guys were asking for a part where it shows how Skyler, Flynn, Jessie end up but the show isnt about them tbh. They are important but even in the last episode Walt says he did everything for himself. This was his journey. Everyone else was just along for the ride. The only character's fate we had to know in the finale was Walt's imo
Satisfying ending to this goat show.

The Voice gets a lot more viewers than Breaking Bad's finale on a weekly basis as well. Do you have a point?Butt wrote:Here is a little stat for you, the Finale broke BB's viewership number but that is still half of what Duck Dynasty gets

Re: Breaking Bad
Completely correct except for the Jesse part. Creators themselves said show quickly became as much about Jesse as it was about Walt. His future is...what? He has no money. DEA probably is looking for him since Marie probably told them about him cooperating with Hank. He might even be arrested :/Rebaño Sagrado wrote:What happened to Huell, ted, saul, the ginger etc, but who really cares?Blue Barrett wrote:Whatever happened to Lydia's daughter?

Re: Breaking Bad
Not a fan of that finale tbh.
Not the normal slow burn that these BB episodes normally are and for a finale, that's rather disappointing. The air of finality to this episode played against it instead of for it.

Re: Breaking Bad
I was pretty satisfied with the ending. Glad Walt died, all the loose ends were tied up and everything. I did feel rather than the two 8 episode seasons it should have been a 5th season and a 6th, but other than that, everything was well done. The finale was great IMO but not mindblowing.
Favorite point in the series...I'm not sure. The end of season 3 was great, but IMO the second half of season 4 was absolutely ridiculous. The high point of the series. I didn't feel much in the finale with the villains being Todd and the rest compared to when Walt was facing off with Gus. The scene Urban posted was probably my favorite, although this one is GOAT too

Re: Breaking Bad
Almost every episode had a great scene, it's hard to pick which is the best lol.
If I had to choose one, it would've been the one mentioned in the opening post. That's when I got hooked up.

Re: Breaking Bad
Watched the final episode this morning, very satisfied with the ending. The third best TV show I've ever watched after Band of Brothers and The Sopranos. Take a bow.
One more season would've been even worse. Now things moved nicely forward from season to season. Another season before the ending would have been just a filler, even if it had been a good one, distracting this on-going main theme of things escalating.
The final song fit so well that I even wondered if they had made it just for this purpose x)Firenze wrote:
Also the ending song was perfect to close the show with. I feel like the last great drama show just left TV ffs.
Seconded. It wasn't rushed. A prolonged version would just have meant boring relationship drama between whoever. Neither was I left longing for happy-ending-last-pictures for Jesse, Skyler, Marie nor Saul. Just because a show is ending doesn't mean you have to go all soft.ranDOM 10 wrote:Disagree about the show being rushed and I'm glad they decided to end it after 5 seasons. In my opinion shows have a tendency of sticking around too long and ruining the experience. I felt as if the show gave me the right amount of closure and I definitely plan of watching all five seasons again in the near future.

Re: Breaking Bad
Should it matter that Todd's uncle's gang wasn't that powerful/highly ranked for them to be the last villains to end the show? Gus was more powerful.

Re: Breaking Bad
It probably shouldn't MT but it mattered to me too tbh
Todd (Basically cooked meth after robbing fumigated houses) and his UNcle & Co seemed like a big step down from Walt being an enemy of the Cartel.
I'm so surprised the Neo-Nazi mob were the main enemies in the last part of BB. After seasons of Drug lords and Cartel hitmen.

Re: Breaking Bad
The only reason it wouldn't matter is because it wasn't just Walt vs the villain. It was about other things related to Walt as well. Like the DEA, his family, him running away etc. Todd's uncle's gang was just one part of the ending.
In terms of better villains, I prefer the sadistic ones rather than generic ones like Todd's uncle. Tuco, Gus and those twins were more intimidating.

Re: Breaking Bad
Agreed
One of the best shows of all time but I think an ending involving the Cartel would've been better than a small group of small time criminals who recently got involved in the meth game.
Either way everybody has different opinions and BB was great ffs
Gonna miss it.

Re: Breaking Bad
I thought that Todd's uncle's gang was just fine. Small-time criminals who seized the opportunity. Also, a cartel or two were already disbanded so it makes sense a new one didn't just pop up in no time. I mean, Gus spent years building up his.

Re: Breaking Bad
IMO Season 5 as a whole was the best. 5>4>3>2>1, basically show just kept getting better
Fav episode=Ozymandias
Fav scene=Walt killing the 2 dealers in Season 3.

Re: Breaking Bad
- Spoiler:
- I was very content with Todd and his uncle being the final victims. The rank/power of the gang has nothing to do with it - it is more about the bad blood between Walt/Jack and Jesse/Todd. Jack took everything Walt had worked for and murdered Hank right before doing so. And if you really think about it, Jack had enough power to get all those people murdered in prison...I think you two are forgetting how much power they actually had.
Gus didn't start the rivalry with Walt, that was all on Jesse and Walt (I'd have to rewatch the show to confirm this). While Gus was a big time criminal, he was merely pushed into a war with Hank. Jack/Todd on the other hand, they screwed Walt over and it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I think I had more hate for all the characters that passed in the series finale.
Did anyone else find it ironic that in a way Walt killed himself? I thought it was awesome to see Walt bail Jesse out one last time - that showed me that they still share a connection with each other. I was also shocked when Walt admitted that a lot of what he did was for himself. I think he always did his best to look out for others, however if it came down to it, he had his best interest at heart.

Re: Breaking Bad
It would have made more of a difference had the final criminals been bigger. There wasn't much build up in terms of Walt vs Jack/Todd either. Plus they didn't have that special something about them. They were just your average criminals. Gus had that special something about him.
However like I said, the final storyline wasn't just about Walt vs the gang. The gang was just one part of the ending and were kinda just filler.

Re: Breaking Bad
It was a fine way to end with them. We've already seen the cartels etc, Walt took down people, thought he was on top, then had his empire/money taken from him by people he brought into the game. They were underrated, even Mike said he wasn't worried about them from the intel he got, but they kept on proving to be competent. I was absolutely fine with them being the final antagonists.

Re: Breaking Bad
Agree with MT
Also the thing is, the criminals didn't care about Walt THAT much
Todd respected Walt hugely and the Neo Nazis left Walt some of his own money out of respect. Their was not much bad blood. A far cry from 2 hitmen sitting in his bedroom with an axe.
