Who was the first football superstar? Empty Who was the first football superstar?

ok let me explain this question a bit... Now in days whenever we have a youngster with the most minimal amount of talent they are immediately tagged with "the next pele, maradona, etc" my question is when pele or any of the other greats where young and showed their worth who were they compared too? Who was the first football legend?
