Juventus will step up their interest in Fiorentina midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas, according to reports.

The Old Lady are looking for a new left-sided player in Antonio Conte’s 4-4-2 system ahead of the new season.

The Bianconeri had previously targeted Michel Bastos and Eljero Elia, but their proposed moves have fallen through.

Bastos has committed his future to Lyon, while Hamburg have insisted Elia is not for sale after rejecting a €7m bid from the Italians.

With Juve running out of options and time, they are now set to increase their attempts to net the Peruvian international.

Juve have reportedly offered the Viola €10m and the services of €7m-rated striker Amauri for the former Catania player.

However, it remains to be seen whether Amauri would accept such a switch after he seemed to open the door for a Palermo return.

I would accept Vargas if it means getting rid of Amauri. However, I still feel our best formation would be a 4-3-3, so I'm still torn about getting a true LW.

I hope Conte realizes soon that Marchisio must be a starter and the only way to do that is to play a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2. Instead of chasing after a LW why don't we just go after Cassano, since he seeme to be available? 4-3-3 with Cassano:

I'm all out for getting Vargas. I really like him as a player and I think he's fantastic. We really need a LW, let's just get him. And let's not forget he can play as a LB too...

Id rather play Pasquato, but Vargas wouldbe a good signing if he could get back his 09-10 form. His form last season wasnt great.

why quag super sub..?why not pasquato as super sub and team without Cassano the troublemaker

No it might mean getting Quag out, as Fiorentina want Quag for Vargas Sadly, Marotta instead is trying Amauri instead, but they don't accept that. Quag did play in Fiorentina, but he did bad there, as Pazzini did as well. Well hopefully we get a 4-3-3 and and I agree with that formation. The midfield is solid at best and Cassano beside Matri is amazing, but then again we got Vucinic now.

Ha, I forgot about Vucinic, I guess he has really made a big impression on me..

Well, Cassano > Vucininc anyway, so Vucinic can be our second super sub. We need a strong bench anyway to comepte for the scudetto, so if Quags and Vucinic are on the bench then that means we have a solid team and we can compete with Inter and Napoli. As for Milan, if we get Cassano and they lose him, then it is addition by subtraction and we would have weakended our biggest opponent. As for Inter and Napoli, if they lose Eto and Lavezzi then they would be weaker as well.

The next 3 weeks will be interesting. But like I said before, if Marotta has Balotelli in his radar as our Mr. X then we would instantly become scudetto contenders...
