Will anyone be able to compete with Germany in the future?
Does anyone have a better future than Germany? I mean, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, and Spain all have bright futures, but I dont think even they can compare with Germany. Do you guys think they can? I mean Germany have:
Ozil
Marin
Gotze
Kroos
Muller
Khedira
The Bender bros
Howedes
Aogo
Petersen
Grosskreutz
Clemens
Reus
Holtby
Schurrle
Hunt
Hummels
Tasci
Badstuber
Boateng
Beck
Contento
Neuer
All these guys are under 25, some even under 21, and still arent in their prime yet.
Plus:
Podolski
Schweinsteiger
Mertesacker
Jansen
Lahm
Adler
Gomez
Helmes
Kiessling
All these guys are still in their mid 20s, in their primes, with one world cup in their primes left and another world cup where theyd sll be good.
Can anyone compete with this? Plus im probably missing some.

Only Spain and Belgium as things stands.
Re: Will anyone be able to compete with Germany in the future?
Does the number matter? It is all about the squad and mainly the starting 11!

Re: Will anyone be able to compete with Germany in the future?
It's not like all these guys are going to end up world class. There's also how functional they'd work as a team. There's definitely a shit load of talent, you can tell just be how chaotic Loew's callups have been lately, almost like a lotery "Oh, your turn now Gundogan!" to see who gets lucky.
There's so much talent you can fit into the team, so on paper it may be very strong but let's see how it turns out on the long term. There needs to be a solid 25 man squad for consistency's sake. A lot of different factors can come into play, else ManC should theoretically be stomping everyone.

Historically? Sure.
Now? 3rd place in World Cup compared to going out in a group containing legendary New Zealand?
Future? Wait for 2014.

Historically correct. World Cups speak for themselves.
Italy is better presently as well.
How? Oh well 16 years Germany hasn't beaten us.
2006 we defeated them twice, 4-1 and 2-0 and now tied 1-1 with two diverse squads. Sure, better World Cup in 2010, but irrelavent as we speak about now. Those scores I mentioned were just to show our recent fixtures. Anyways, both first place in their groups and that's pretty much it. Regardless the Fifa rankings, nothing different.
In conclusion, although both are at the same level, due to recent fixtures, Italy is equal and better as Germany still hasn't defeated us.
2014? Who knows...
They said that in 2002... We should of won, but got screwed... Germany Finals but Choked
they said that in 2006... We won by the way... Semi's but Choked
2010... We Flopped... Semi's again. But Choked
2014... Far most prob and choke again...
Never a dull moment.

Re: Will anyone be able to compete with Germany in the future?
In 2006 the Italy squad was the best on Earth. I love how you are talking present, then take matches from 2006 as a benchmark. Last recent match which was only a friendly ended up 1-1. That's how I see them, 2 world class sides which can go very far if they wanted to. Right now, I don't see either with the advantage, Italy having the historical advantage and Germany having the potential talent.
If we take the real deal, the 2010 WC, Germany are currently better. Italy had an outdated manager and an even older squad, so I won't count it since right now they are doing well.
We don't have to wait till 2014, actually. In the Euro's we can see who's the real deal.
Also, it's hard to be equal and at the same time better... just clearing that up.

Argentina, easy. They have ridiculous amounts of world class forwards for one country, and it's only a matter of time until a CB has a breakthrough

Germany will always be strong.
When you add together their population, the popularity of the sport and German efficiency (know-how, facilities, money available) it's pretty difficult to fail.

Re: Will anyone be able to compete with Germany in the future?
You cant argue that Spain, with there successes in so many NT tournaments recently (U-21,20, etc.), are still favorites over Germany.
Currently the EURO 08 and WC 2010 wins over Germany shows why Spain is superior. But look at Spains future.
Thiago is at the front of the next generation of Spain's bright future, and the potential from the players who aren't regular nationals yet (Mata, Bartra, Canales, Muniain, Javi Martinez) makes it seem as if Spain is covered in the next few years although the senior side is still young. Puyol and Xavi are the only two starters who I can see not being in the lineup in the next 5 years.
In those 5 years, some of the even younger stars have a chance at also gaining NT spots, such as Deulofeu, Sergi Gomez, and Morata and Sarabia (hopefully not the last 2, lol.) But yeah, IMO Spain's future looks just as good as any. But with the WC still 3 yrs. away, just look at a potential, realistic lineup to the team. Pretty much use the current lineup and just replace Xavi with Thiago (if cesc is still benched), and replace Puyol with one of Madrids CBs and you still have a strong squad, using none of the other young guys. If Spain face Germany at Euro 2012, Spain will take it.

Re: Will anyone be able to compete with Germany in the future?
Sciacca, hate to break it to you, but this Italian generation of young players simply cannot compare to Germany's. I'm pretty sure 99% of all Italian/ Serie A supporters on this forum will agree with me.
Germany's current generation is simply sublime. Almost every position in the pitch is covered nicely. Defenders, midfielders, attackers, goalkeepers... Germany's youth have got that covered, and covered well all right. Under the exceptional coaching of Loew, this team should make the final of the 2014 World Cup, unless something extremely bizarre occurs.
The problem with the young generation of players in Brazil, Argentina and Italy is that at least one area of the pitch is weak. For Argentina, it's the defence and goalkeeping. In Brazil, it's the same. In Italy, it's the midfield.
Only Spain can compete with Germany in the future. The Netherlands will be slightly behind these two IMO.

Thiago, Canales, Martinez, Sarabia, Canales, Jese, Morata, Delafufu... Spain has lots of good youngsters. Then there are Bojan, Fabregas, Ramos, Pique , Busquets, Borja, Llorente, Negredo, etc. which are all young and will last a while. And countless others. Yes, Spain can compete with Germany and win too.
