andiii wrote:yes, and for instance when we wanted to build a separate stadium for us, the milan city council or whoever it was blocked it. they blocked it because it would mean less money for them as we and milan pay to use the san siro.
the stadium was going to cost about 500m, and they said if we build one they will add some insane figure to prevent us from doing so, like 300m in tax making it 800m total... because it meant "loss of money for the city" or some garbage
guys the city cannot just add 300 million in tax cos it wants to...:S

It is not going to happen because we have too much small clubs. By small clubs I mean club that can't pass 15 000 crowds on average. And some do way less.
Only Marseille, Lyon and Lens have done more than 30 000 on average during last season.
We are trying to build a 60 000 seats stadium eventough Gerland was not full last season. Lille is bulding a 50 000 seats capacity and it is a big question wheter they will be able to fill that capacity.

New stadia probably create at least some initial buzz, but I dunno how many of the "new fans" or match goers will keep going to the matches.

The Lens stadium always seems packed. Why don't they manage to make it to the top?

Galliani did not mean to flatter the French with these stadiiums, these comments were made more out of spite to UEFA for the choice they made and to the Italian government who remain stubborn on the law preventing the privatization of stadia in Italy.

Re: Galliani: The French will also overtake us
Apart from the point Galliani makes about the stadium law. the FIGC would also do well to pressure UEFA to fix the Europa League and the coefficient points.
As it stands its retarded to amount the same number of points than champions league matches, either they find a way to up the monetary incentive or they lower the points.
As a fan it pains me to say Serie A has been too comfortable for too long and is now having all sorts of problems because of it. I'm extremely optimistic Italy will bounce back in the long run, but they need to start acting now before, as Galliani says, they end up behind Ligue 1.

Why hasn't Berlusconi fiddled so he can build a stadium?
Normally invents laws to suit himself. This would be one which I would approve of!

I was thinking about this too seriously, i don't think its a troll comment to say Berlusconi does whatever the hell he wants.
