They need to take the chance and start building the side with younger players and around messi. Look at how well it worked out for Germany. With players like messi, aguero, higuain, di maria, tevez, pastore.... Argentina have the depth in attack to be the most entertaining team on the international stage, and with players like mascherano, banega and cambiasso behind them, the only thing left to do is find the right balance and formation. Once the defence can sort itself out between now and 2014, I don't see any reason why Argentina can't challenge to win the trophy. And players like riquelme would be very useful to have in the qualifying squad even if he is not a guaranteed starter.

Every winning squad has experience, though. Argentina should have a healthy mix between young talent and old players. Zanetti, for example, should still play.

and riquelme could still play, but the thread asks do they NEED him the answer is no, could they have him playing? yes, if he maintained himself in good form, lets say he was still plaing in europe, then he prob would be at good form, but at boca juniors, at this stage, i doubt hes anywhere nere good enough to be NESSECARY or VITAL to argentina

he don't have much problem when playing against club from europe (arsenal) even he play for boca

he still in good form, in other word very very good form, although he don't play at europe
