Riquelme doesn't look anything like bodywise at all. Yes, his game doesn't really on pace but you need basic pace+endurance to move Or will he playmake from one fixed position?

As I see it, Argentina will have 2 chances to win the WC while Messi is still hot. In 2014 he will Be 26 and in 2018 he will be 30. Baring any career threatening injuries he'll be their best bet since Maradona to win the WC. There's no arguing it.

Argentina need to build a strong core not only for the WC2014, in which, TBH, I don't see Argentina winning. On Brazilian soil there will just be too much negative pressure from the crowd for them to have a great chance.

So, they need not only think about 2014, but 2018, so the team should be built with a core of players that will be able to play in both WCs. Who can then be reinforced with newer talent. Players like Messi, Di Maria, Aguero, Higuain, Banega, Pastore, Garay and so on.

Argentina need a strong defense to win the world cup. Bringing Riquelme is not going to satisfy that requirement!

argentina did not need riquelme? are you sure? argentina are not so creative in their playmaker nowadays. they need that creativity factor, that is mean, riquelme is the answer.

They need a competent defense, and a coach who can correctly line up their midfielders
