I feel like we're agreeing with each other. I stated some positions that I think are popular. I'm not talking about fringe stuff. Minimum wage increase was another one I forgot to mention. The FL amendment was passed with 60% of the vote, even as it was trending red.

These MSNBC morons have been embarrassing themselves non stop today. been watching their post election coverage not because i enjoy it, in fact they make me cringe, but as they say, it's like a slow car crash, you can't look away. rofl

Its insane to me how simplistic the democratic outlook is. If you’re Black, Latino, any minority - you must vote blue. It’s heresy not to.

A lot of POC have realized that they’re only being exploited for political gain with no tangible change to speak of.

Obama won because he was a great candidate with a message that resonated at the time. Kamala lost because she was terrible and hastily swapped candidate with no primary. Why make it all about race? People have ears for ducks sake. Listen to Obama speak. Kamala sounds like a parrot. Lots of words, no substance. People will vote for a charismatic and intelligent candidate regardless of race. I personally think Michelle Obama could’ve won this.

The de-racialization of American politics and death of identity politics is undoubtedly one of the silver linings of this election.

There's still a widening gender divide, which is interesting because most women say they're not interested in dating someone of the opposite party but most Gen Z men voted for Trump and most Gen Z women for Harris. Wonder how that will play out for them.

I guess the difference is that to me the fringe stuff is the progressive agenda. The stuff further to the left than most in the party. That's the kind of thing you might find in progressive publications.

Stuff like lower medicine prices, abortion available everywhere, min wage increases is pretty standard liberal (ie centrist) policy.

I'll agree the line between them is not always clear.

Yea he's just so high on his own ego that he actually thinks he would've beaten Trump despite clearly suffering from late stage dementia.

The reality is if he didn't step down the result would have been even more catastrophic. states like New Jersey, New Hampshire, Virginia, New Mexico would all be in play.

The arrogance of anointing Kamala Harris, who has no credentials and was a terrible candidate, bit the dems in the arse.

There were MUCH better options like Josh Shapiro... but without a primary, they didn't let the voters... the people they needed to win the presidential election... tell them who is the most viable candidate.

Of course, they were in denial about Biden and literally bullied anyone who dared oppose him in the primary. Talk about "destroying democracy". you have Exhibit A by the dems in their own primary. By the time Biden disqualified himself, there was no time left.

In short, they screwed themselves up.  Likely would have lost anyhow, but it would have been more interesting.  People are just too upset about the economy, the border and the woke movement to have voted for dems anyhow.

I did not vote because in order to have a truly good understanding of where things stand it takes a lot of research and introspection and it wouldn't have mattered in my state anyways. Having said that, putting parties and policies aside, just as people I wouldn't have wanted to vote for any of the two clowns in contention.

I will say that I think the "woke movement" is one of the key things to consider in why the republicans have won again. The arguably hypocritical, illogical, and santicomonious moral superiority that I feel comes with the "woke" has probably carved a nice chunk of the grave that the "left" has dug for themselves.

On the other hand, you look at the republicans and the trump supporters and it's also sickening.

This is all a shit show.

The sky net missiles will land soon enough and cleanse.

Kamala was a joke of a candidate.

Reading this section makes me realize just how deep n brainy some of GL are Razz I mean many of u guys dont even live in the US but u know so much about it in detail N I always thought football fans r just dumb ppl like myself lol

How badly dems lost has made me realize too how arrogant n delusional they are too... thinking they could win with Biden (n then be competent president for 4 more yrs) in the first place when his health was failing... n then the rest. Maybe Trump is a roll of the dice for the better, but I doubt it, fked either way Razz

Final result R+13 Laughing

AFAIK both Rasmussen and Trafalgar were downplayed in Nate Silver's model and either was very solid in both 2020/2024.

Nate correctly diagnosed the issue of herding by many pollsters but still rewarded them in his model over those who didn't herd like Rasmussen..

Well, yeah.. but I've talked to more demented people than most people have. And it seemed like Biden's dementia had progressed to the point of no return. At that point, you don't experience significant, cognitive irregularities, from my experience. Not to this extent, anyway.

I can't see Musk giving up control of his companies for a government job, even if it comes with a large tax break. Maybe if it's a scam thing, where he's only gone for a couple of months.

As for buying Twitter, maybe Myesyats saw it coming, but he sure as hell didn't. He tried his best to back out of the deal, but he couldn't.

As to the polling, what do the percentages mean?

I didn't think he was that far gone, just really inconsistent. But maybe I just didn't watch enough of him to notice what you did. Though I watch a few videos here and there when I think they provide something extra, I prefer to read most of the news I consume.

@thimmy a lot of people with dementia seem fine during the day but struggle in the morning at night. It's called sundowning. The debate was at night so Biden didn't have his best showing there, but he's probably fine at midday like in that interview. People say that Biden only has "6 good hours a day", which also fits.
