Re: Premier League 2023/24
I'm only speculating, but I read some articles on the charges against Man City, and it seems to me that they were really grasping at straws with some of these charges. I'm not sure exactly what Everton are being accused of, but I have a feeling that they won't face any of the harsh consequences that are being suggested.

Not because he did anything in particular, but his assured body language on the ball and his affirmed mannersm speak to me that he will be a world class player maybe.
He really does have all the tools to be a complete midfielder. Expect him to a Bayern/Real Madrid legend by the end of his playing career.

Based on what little I've seen of them, they seem to be highly reliant on the Son+Maddison partnership, and no one has been able to shut down down so far. Is it sustainable, though? I have no clue.

plus, they've lucked their way into a few results... Sarr and Bissouma provide a solid basis for their attack though... their defense + goalie also look best it has in years

Re: Premier League 2023/24
got lucky against us tbh
they have no depth either, think they will tank in the second half of the season but if they can keep the lads fit..

Re: Premier League 2023/24
8 wins and 2 draws is probably flattering to Spurs although they were the better team against Arsenal and drew that one, not to mention they were very lucky against Liverpool. Some luck against United but overall Tottenham were the superior team and deserved the win imo
Generally though, Spurs have been the better side in nearly every game they've played, and when you play like that, it's not much about luck. Not to mention things like Spurs having the most touches inside the box in the league, but only a couple penalties (I can hardly remember any so far). Lots of pretty moves that have been close but not quite come off. To me, the team is still improving, even though they've been as good as any team in the EPL this year.
They are also getting one of their best players back from injury in Rodrigo Bentancur.
So there are reasons to think Spurs should continue to improve from here. There are some reasons for pessimism, too: the team lacks depth. Hojbjerg and Lo Celso in the midfield are fine, Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon up front are also fine, and Emerson and Davies are fine back ups. But they're all "fine". They're not particularly great. If injuries occur, Spurs will begin dropping points. I also think that, while they create bundles of chances, they're still a bit reliant on Maddison, who has probably been the best player in the EPL this season.
I've watched almost every game so far and this team is real, and I think they're capable of being in the hunt for the title the whole season, especially since they're only playing 1 game a week. But as always, injury luck will play a big role, and they're destined to slow down sometime soon.
I think the thing that bodes best for them is their base of Romero, Van De Ven, and Vicario. All 3 have been absolute class this year. Vicario and Van De Ven look like fantastic pickups. Most people would have expected Spurs to drop points on poor defense, but their defense has been much better than expected. Udogie on the left is also brilliant. Bissouma and Sarr/Bentancur in front of them are really effective midfielders in terms of defense too. Richarlison and Kulusevski both put in a shift defensively every week. They have a much more solid base than you'd think. This team is going to be capable of grinding out results even when the football isn't free flowing and beautiful. They've done it twice this week against two sides that can give teams trouble with Fulham (at home) and Crystal Palace at Selhurst

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Vicario is proving to be the best signing of the season.
I don't really disagree with CB, but they've literally had the easiest fixture in the league so far. And that causes the league table to overrated them. Top 4 should still be the goal for them

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Yeah that's fair. They have Chelsea, Wolves, Villa, City, West Ham, Newcastle in a row next. We'll see what they're really made of in the next 6 games. I've seen a lot of comments that seem to think this team is a fluke though and while I believed that after the first 4 or so games, 6 games later it's clear this team is for real. At least to me.

Hope Spurs win the league tbh since we have no chance, glad Son is getting a run as the main man
when Spurs play you can actually see structure and a plan unlike us under Ten Hawg (City will put 6 past us tomorrow)
Ange seems like a good fella too

that's a wild overstatement, laddy, pipe it down... you played well and i was impressed, but 3 goals in that game had an element of luck involved, including both your goals... we should've cleared our lines better on your first goal, and we're basically walking home with a 2-1 win if Jorginho doesn't hand you the 2nd goal...
only the Saka penalty felt warranted coz it was a penalty

i'd say Maddison not Vicario... both great for Spurs though, we could have snatched up Maddison for less than Havertz fml
on the other hand, i'd say we've had the toughest run so far out of all the contenders... we've played all of United, Chelsea, Spurs, City

Incredible pass from Eriksen to Rashford, who controls it brilliantly with his chest but finish is lacking... Great stall on the shot though to let Walker by.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
ETH has been screwed with some signings (but screwed us with some of his own) but its clear to see there is no tactical structure here...
3-0 is actually pleasant considering our lineup, his subs were baffling as usual, losing patience

Was that really Foden's first goal at Old Trafford? Would've thought it would be more by now.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Can't watch anymore, this is plain sad how lost and hopeless United look.
Sack everybody, start from scratch, because there is no base here to build on.
There are maybe 5 players in that entire squad who deserve to be there.

Yeah, I remember those goals. The commentator said this was his first goal at Old Trafford. I guess I tend to forget that he's only 23.
