He's already won the world cup. Favorites to win a 2nd one this coming year. Going for CL. Not to mention CR's record for goalscoring in CL is 135. Mbappe is already at 33. To put that in perspective... He's only 16 away from being top 10. I think both he and Haaland break CR's record in the next 10-15 years.

His legacy is set if he continues on this trajectory regardless if he stays or leaves PSG. The trophies and stats will speak for themselves.

I doubt Mbappe ever goes to Madrid at this point. I think his next destination is EPL in 2-3 years.

They should be breaking it with the implementation of the new format.

Mbappé is a big shark in the pool and that was clear many years ago. Even at Monaco in 2017 there was reports that his family is very organized, business oriented and they want to have the most possible control over his career.

In retrospect the only surprising element is to use Madrid as stepping stone for contract negociations. That takes balls. Clearly doesn't respect PSG either btw.

People celebrate the L taken by Madrid fans but they are well managed, they are in CL final, it's only a minor bump. As for PSG this club is still laughing stock, an endless disturbance on the transfer market, going after everyone yet they get humiliated each season. Now Mbappé will be acting as their new GM and i'm sure they were willing to give the qatari citizenship if he asked it. They care only to save face for their dud world cup and losing Mbappé was too big of a hit on their credibility.

They did it with Barcelona against PSG for the Neymar transfer when Tebas said they weren't going to accept the money from PSG. They didn't report them I think, but they released an official statement too.

Don't know why Tebas is still in charge by the way. An absolute clown who's doing more harm than good to La Liga.

If LA Liga is doing that, it's superlame, an embarrassment to the league and a waste of time and resources. The kid was never a madrid player, u can't force him to come and play in your league, he never signed any agreement. Focus that energy into marketing your product than bothering psg

As a matter of pride, madrid should not pursue this move again. You don't want to give the impression that you will always be available open arms when players turn down a deal. Like when we signed hazard and the pro madrid media made it look like "madrid always gets their man", the dude was like 5/6 yes older and some pounds heavier than our initial interest.

Anyway glad it's all done and we can focus on Liverpool and not have a rumor filled summer with "insiders" recycling rumors.

This is 100% false and why (despite getting a lot of shit from people) I kept putting it out there that nothing is done. Every media person that actually is worth something in France was unsure about his destination until the last minute. Heck, even PSG didn't know lol. They gave up earlier in the week because Mbappe went silent on them to make his final decision (and they took silence as a "no"). So it's not like he misrepresented anything. Everything was very close to the vest.

He did say things like "I want to experience something new in my career of course" or "Madrid is certainly a great destination"... never directly but via his agents btw... but he never committed 100%. He made it perfectly clear that there was no final commitment.

So if Madrid felt "comfortable", it was never guaranteed. Every public appearance, even the one where he explained what happened last summer, he mentioned that his decision last summer was then and that doesn't necessarily mean it will be his decision in the future.

If Madrid management, players, media and fans are butthurt, it's of their own doing, not Mbappe's.

He was rumored to have given his green light already in January. We would never had passed on Haaland if we didn't have a handshake agreement. Then in March he mentioned there were new parameters and he played us against QSG and got what he wanted

One thing's for sure, one can never trust his word again. Rumour has it he texted Perez to communicate his decision Laughing

What changed btw is PSG agreeing to fire Leonardo / Poche and give Mbappe veto rights on new hires. Mbappe was leaving because he didn't believe in the sporting direction... that drastic move by PSG convinced him.

Agreeing to what terms look like IF you were to sign a contract is not signing a contract. That's like getting terms sheets from various venture capital firms as a startup and then signing the one you want.

It's very typically done when you have multiple suitors. You're getting the best offers so that you can then decide on one.

The biggest joke of all this is all the ass kissing from Spanish media and fans, just so desperate and obnoxious to be apart of everything and looking like fools in the end learn to stop being so damn extra, would have happily cheered for this guy if he knocked the team out of CL this season lol, him taking this long to announce his decision always seemed suspicious, if he is leaving and wanted to leave last sunmer, then why all the waiting and suspense? Just to get a ridiculous contract from psg, the club can't compete anymore in terms of salary, what mbappe did has damaged the club reputation a lot, gonna be stained for awhile.

How funny it is when some French guy was going on about getting rid of vinicius and rodrygo for some money hungry guy who doesn't want to compete, I don't care how good mbappe is now or in the future, nothing is gonna change that, I hope Flo doesn't go back for him at the end of this current contract, and have some self-respect unlike madrid fans and media, learn to appreciate the club legends, players like bale can be treated harshly after all he did for the club, yet a player who has played a second football for the team was treated like God, hope bale is laughing his ass off somewhere.

No need for promises. You only make a promise if you are forced to wait for legal reasons. Mbappe was free to officially sign whatever deal he wanted on January 1 per the rules since it was his last year. The fact that nothing was signed indicated that nothing was finalized.

So the narrative that "he broke his word" is completely ridiculous.

Why would he "give his word" when he was free to sign whatever contract he wanted on January 1? This whole narrative is nonsense.

And btw, as much as i don't like Flo, i don't blame him one bit for gambling on Mbappe. He and Haaland are the two players you gamble on and hope for the best. Real Madrid and its fans are just not used to losing these types of gambles.

For those thinking that Flo chose Mbappe over Haaland... that's not true. He was after both. Man City gave Haaland more favorable terms (namely, an out clause after 2 years that Madrid would not give).
