Thiago, what a pass that was. Very simple nothing special but awareness to play that was incredible

Congrats Liverpool
So ruthless
You better do the business vs Utd/Spurs
This sets up for a great title race
Saka/Øde/Martinelli are still going to get better an better
But life will going to become easier for them once Laca and xhaka are replaced with superior players

I would not say, Arsenal are 3 to 4 players away. I think someone replacing Laca would help although he was good today but inconsistent throughout the game.
Arteta is doing a brilliant job by improving players through training. I guess Arsenal need a very good detailed assessment of what they need instead of randomly spending on a striker/midfielder.

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
Typical Arsenal, haven't won a game against top teams all season. Being world class is much more than killing scrubs.
Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
Let's not get carried away. Liverpool's fixtures are a lot more difficult than City's, including (as it stands) a must-win match against City at Etihad which means far more pressure on Liverpool than on City. Unfortunately the odds are stacked against Liverpool.
Still don't think Liverpool will win the EPL but now Pep is going to feel Klopp's breath behind his bald head.

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
Probably the most mature performance of the season. We probably will not win the league but breathing down that bald shiny neck is the least this club can do at this moment.

so you think we are only a good striker away?
tbh i'm proud of the team of how far we've come vs City (in early Jan) and vs Liverpool last night. Both first halves especially. For the first time in a long while we don't just sit back and pull down our pants and look overwhelmed by those two oppositions.
The major issue is still that our heads drop once we concede against those two teams, and then we lose composure and get erratic. But i think that will improve with more experience, and if we actually start beating those two teams down the line.
I still think our defense is one level below Pool's and City's. And our attack is about two levels below.

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
Ok, may be not only Laca but this obsession with signing 3 to 5 players in a window and believe that this will suddenly turn any club's fortunes is not going to work if you are competing against this stacked City/Chelsea team.
I think patience will be the key and try to improve existing players. That is what Pep and Klopp both did with the players they bought. Buy the right players and have a strategy in place beforehand. I think all clubs in London are producing better academy players than the whole England. Just saying that Arsenal will have to use all the possibilities to improve on what they have currently.

Competing for 4th without having any reliable CF
Excellent performance in the 1st half, with lots of switches of play to exploit villas narrow system,Smith Rowe and Partey in particular were top
2nd half all about game management,Leno being poor from goal kicks was villa's only hope
And I say every week, imagine how much better this team will be with a better striker up front (superior athleticism in particular)

Another season in EL. Goddamn. Atleast there'll be less traveling to Eastern Europe I guess..
Would be stoked to see Ronaldo in EL
We are just as bad if not worse but thankfully we have a league full of chokers and trash teams who will help safeguard us to 4th.

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
How did Lacazette become so shit? The last time I actively watched the Prem I was thinking "Arsenal are so lucky, Auba and Laca to choose from" and now they're left with a Shit-Cassette?
Maybe Lukaku is desperate enough, I dunno, Arsenal really messed up their striker department.

Assuming you're somehow right, what do you propose as a solution to fix that peculiar problem? Hire another manager to exorcise the Ole out of this team?

Okay when I posted it, the idea was that I would elaborate if someone cared to quote or reply to it, and I had a pretty good guess that that someone would be you Thimmy lol.
Well Ole is worse than Mourinho simply because, the latter only 'infects' the 'bad' apples, the lazy players aka the Pogba's, the Martial's, the Luke Shaw's, who after a point had refused to cooperate with him outright it seemed.
The rest of the squad were all together and grounded. Only those players caused problems who Mourinho had a biff with. During his last days though, more would have downed tools and wanted him out of the club, like may be Rashford. But that only happened at the very end.
Ole on the other hand, has managed to turn even the 'good ones' bad. May be its not entirely his fault either, may be the higher ups wished him to pamper to their egos and wanted to make them feel good after Jose publicly went hard on them. Whatever it was, well the after effect we can all see now, with regard to what has happened with 2 of our brightest academy talents. Greenwood and Rashford. The former turned into a abusive rapist and the latter is now getting into fights with fans.
I mean, the guy had 0 authority, he was basically calling players, even teenagers by nicknames as if they were his frigging college mates.
His treatment of players was the exact opposite to that of Mourinho. He put each and everyone of them on a pedestal. Made them feel like they could do murder and get away with at this club. I mean all would have made some semblance of sense, had it transpired in a difference in their attitude towards the club. But nothing changed. Pogba and his agent continued shitmouthing the club at every given opportunity. Solskjaer did nothing to stop it.
- some more tldr venting:
Other salient points that prove Ole's 3 years will take some time to fix are as follows.
- He sanctioned the biggest ripoff in football history with the Maguire deal.
- Further United spent 180 million on Maguire, Wan Bissaka and Van De Beek dude, 180 fking million. Not even Mourinho who bought Sanchez can come close to that sort of gross mismanagement of resources. We are in need of some serious rebuild once again lol, atleast 5 or 6 new players and for that need some serious cash. How much of that 180 mil can we hope to recover?
- Anyway, he dished out new contracts to Mata, Matic and Phil fuking Jones. He gave contracts to all of them and yet never played them. Went on overusing Bruno, Rashford and Mcfed cos once again he lacked any sort of balls.
-Persuaded VdB and Lingard to stay and then treated them like shite, by not giving them minutes.
-Said yes to Ronaldo deal and didnt have a rats ass on how to use him.
His ineptitude on the tactical side aside, which made us devoid of any sort of system on the pitch, which in itself will take atleast a season or 2 for the new coach to fix, his management of players was the worst by any of his contemporaries and predecessors imo. No players improved and the good players regressed. What we are now left with a group of entitled brats who refuse to train and complain at the first sight of pressure and demands by Ralf and co.
You can say many of the above mentioned problems extend far deeper and were present even before Ole got the job. The inept board and the Glazers are obviously at fault, but Ole simply was a yes man and puppet to them and clung on to his luxury position like forever and tried to fool fans into thinking he was taking the team in the right direction. Fuck the sheer fact that he remained in the job, and didnt willingly resign after that mauling at the hands of Liverpool is clear evidence to that.
