We needed subs to be made way earlier.

We should have been 5/6-0 up by the 70th min instead we escaped by the skin of our teeth. Faaar too casual, especially Benz who took over from Casemiro in being the biggest turnover machine this game

Benzema admitted that he's feeling fatigue. I know it's not Carlo's way typically... but you gotta take him out before the 83rd min of games like this. Say 65-70 mins for a few because he doesn't have 90 mins at top level right now. He is 33 going on 34.

Carlo needs to manage the subs better. Faar too many times he waits too long before making subs and changes useless positions like the fullbacks

Benzema will slow down it's age you can't do anything about it. specially when the player works off the ball too. one of the reasons someone like Ronaldo is still scoring goals at 37 is that he doesn't do much running off the ball so he saves his energy.

We must go all out for Haaland next summer. Bale, Isco, Marcelo and Modric will be gone next year so that's like about 50 millions per season off our wages.

we have the money to sign him so please Perez do it. we need midfielders and defenders but the number 1 target must be Haaland ( considering Mbappe is a done deal ).

It helped that Granada could not press coordinated and let our midfielders run amok without as much as a fight. They were probably far too busy trying to rile Vini up before he sent their midfielder to an early shower

Benz visibly pissed, but there will be games like these were he'll be frustrated. Just have to take the W and move on. He had a great second half but a terrible first half

Yet another big game we have struggled in because of our slow press. MCK might work against the Granadas of this world but they are far too slow in these games

Great subs every single one of them. Asensio is terrible, i don't understand why he still gets chances

Vini was letting the constant shoves get in his head in the first half, asking for freekicks. They nearly succeeded. Got his head in the game in the second half and got the last laugh

Camavinga and Valverde changed the game. Camavinga is a fast thinker and that's very good. also Asensio combined with Modric results in playing slow and being unable to put pressure on the opponent.

Vini was very bad till the goal. i think there was something up with him mentally. against Sherif too.

question: how long do you all give valverde and camavinga before they can tie up regular starter positions? next year, 2 years etc...? in valverde's case, he's already 23, if by 25 ure still being used as a utility or rotational player at madrid, chances are that's going to be ure permanent role. what do you guys think? can they be starters by next season? when do you think they can hit their peak?

He shouldn't let players get in his head. He has become a target for other teams now. He's let that get to him in those games. Carlo has had to calm him down from the sidelines. Usually he ends up getting the last laugh anyways but one day he might retaliate and even more players will target him like they targeted Ronaldo.

Guys like Casemiro, Benz and Kroos are very important here, as they are the experienced leaders who should give him advice and protect him. The referees completely ignore him when he gets fouled so i can understand his frustration but still he is one of our most effective players so he needs to focus on the game and not off the ball antics from his opponents

It depends on the job we are asking them to do. the formation. if we are asking Valverde to replace Modric and Kroos and do the job they are doing he will never be able to. we may have to adjust our system of playing with their abilities. so them being good enough or not depends on our system of play.

but to answer the question i'd say yes. how many 23 year old midfielders are better than Valverde in the same position? as for Cama he is just a baby yet.

Valverdes problem is his constant injuries. If he can get rid of those, he can mount a serious challenge for Modric's spot. Until he gets rid of the constant niggles no coach will trust him over a tried and trusted mid 3

I think he should've been loaned out to a club that can, at least, promise a good chance of nailing down a starting spot for them based on how he performs. The club could then decide to pull him back or sell him based on his development, like they did with Casemiro. That seems like the most obvious, best decision to make for his development as a player.

From Real Madrid's perspective, they need him as a bench option right now, and that might be a higher, immediate priority than seeing him reach his potential as a player. Only speculation, but I'm guessing that's the reason why he hasn't been loaned out. We don't have a lot of solid alternatives off the bench.
