Man United don’t have the players for a pressing team. This goes to Ronaldo all the way down to maguire. It’s simply better for them to sit back and counter. Players like pogba have the ability to send long balls, Ronaldo makes excellent runs in behind, greenwood has long shot ability, rashford also likes to get in behind.. Is it boring, sure, but I’m sure getting whooped 5-0 isn’t fun either. It’s like trying to play counter attacking football with a team not suited for it.

This is one of the strengths of a manager like Zidane or Tuchel, they analyze the players they have and adapt to give their team the best chance. Ole abandoned his pragmatism and that’s completely on him
