Pedro is fine, I trust the casting directors on this one but i think bella is a poor choice.

Well the writer of the games is writing this one too. Together with the Chernobyl creator. Doubt they’ll shy away from gruesome details.

Really excited about the director too. Really young Russian filmmaker with some great early films apparently. Yet to watch it myself though.

Years later im still angry at TLOU ending. That says how powerful it was for me, but fuck Joel.

Still doesnt make it right, also not the hospital staff, many arent even armed. Its been years but iirc Joel wasn't in danger had he not gone there to free Ellie. It wasn't exactly self defense. Joel was a psychopath from pretty much after the intor of the game, and the choices in the finale are 100% made for selfish reasons. Its a terrible situation, but Joel certainly wasn't out to do "the right thing".

GOAT game.

Oh yea i agree Joel wasn't looking to do the right thing. What he did was purely out of self interest. But as an observer, i do believe he did the right thing. I would have done the same thing.

It's the batman joker dynamic again. batman would have saved thousands by killing joker, but that still wouldn't make it right.

Its not the same as the batman thing, and "i would have done the same thing" doesn't equate to "he did the right thing"

The emotional response is to do what Joel did, but in the process he was ready to screw the world even more. It was a moment where he chose to put his own selfish needs over the entire world's sake.

For Batman, killing the joker is him choosing to commit murder. For Joel saving Ellie is him choosing to commit murder. So saving Ellie is not the same as Batman sparing the joker.

Batman has to act in his dilemma to save the most people by killing someone, Joel has to act to kill many to save one.

Agreed. It was a Keyser Soze moment for me that made me completely re-think his entire interactions throughout the game, not just the ending. Joel might've grown to care about Ellie, but he also used her as a reason to keep going and justify his own horrible actions. When that was taken from her he couldn't deal and became as bad as the worst villains in the game.

It's powerful for sure, and if HBO plays it's cards right it can be even more powerful in the show.

Years and Years is a great show. Its like a prime Black Mirror episode made into a full season. This is what I expected a new Black Mirror ep would be like but Charlie Brooker lost his touch. Ending is not that great but the series is still worth watching.

Just finished Fargo (S1) some hours ago

Very nice show. Great suspense and great use of music. I also give praise to all the actors, it was a great performance, especially by both main characters. Malvo is indeed an evil person but i ended up hating Lester even more.

Looking forward to season 2
