Re: The Official Rap Thread part 1
Well Jay used to be a great MC, remember reasonable doubt? but even he said it
"I had to dumb down my lyrics to double the dollars"
so he changed his way around, and profit wise a smart move, but from a hip hop point of view he's average! For me Jay has lost it, he doesn't fit in the pop music and makes little of good hip hop, the last good album was Black Album...
But damn i missed rakim for so long, i had that 2cd of his greatest hits, and it was the only one in my cd player for a year!!!
gonna kick that nostalgia....

Re: The Official Rap Thread part 1
I expected it lol, its just a personal preferance thats who i prefer.
Pac is still a freaking legend and still listen to him on a daily basis(when i do listen to rap because ill admit i have been listening to it very sparingly in the last year)......
Love me some Scarface aswell.

wierd thing that no one rates DMX anymore
he was good back in the days, but once he retired(?) people seemed to forget about him
its like he didnt leave a mark in the hiphop scene eventhough he was active for so long

Maybe because he became a lowlife crackhead who gets arrested annually. And he never retired, he put drugs before music and that's why he fell off. Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
He actually just got out of prison again though, he'll probably make some new music soon.

Biggie was a boss at his time, his influence can be seen now too.Fantastic flow, great delivery, very good story telling. He easily gets in the top 5 of all time. One of who I like the most as MC's is BIG L.He is just WOOOOW, punchlines to the fullest, awesome flow, good story teller and hard metaphors.Nas is a legend to rap too.Rakim?? the fiend of the microphone, no doubt he is the one that changed rap, you can see him copy his still nowadays too ...

You consider Biggie overhyped? but DMX is one of the greatest?
There is so much wrong with that i dont know where to begin.
LUPE, 50, CHAMILLIONAIRE, BANKS AND DMX?
LOL, I ADVISE YOU LISTEN TO SOME MORE RAPPERS, OTHER THAN LUPE THEY ARE ALL AVERAGE.
Every member of Wu Tang Clan owns them all in every fashion possible.
AND THESE FELLA'S

DMX has more then 2 albums worth of material.
Wu Tang is some of the most over-rated groups ever.
