Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
milan has castillejo injured as well - hence right after sub for saladmaker, he was subbed out again with daniel maldini coming in. this just keeps taking the life out of team one thing after another

What was that about. Subbing Castelejo to get D. Maldini in for the last corner. Was he injured, or did Pioli just want to load the box with tall players and fool Lazio into tracking Maldini (which worked)?
confirmed he is injured

lol and Conte almost ... shipped Skriniar
ever since he was reinstated those 3 has been superb for inter at the back * Skriniar , De Virj , Bastoni
wish it was de ambrosio and kolarov at the back line

Yes, Inter having a better team and better coach with no Europe puts them at an advantage. However, one thing all title winning teams have is their ability to grind out a win or draw in the dying moments. I call it the luck of champions. Milan seems to have it this season so far. We've been fairly clutch at obtaining results in the last minute.
I guess it depends on the overall circumstances. If our starters can stay fit and say a key Inter player goes down, then I see no reason why we can't charge for the title. It's not as unlikely as everyone thinks IMO. The quality, balance, spirit, and luck is all there.
after we secured top 4 with few games left to spare then only i will believe that we will have a shot
not putting pressure on inter or juve or any dig on them but they have quality and depth and luxury to spend on winter that we wont be able to so they could potentially close that gap and run away with it easily.
having said that, im glad ur optimstic,

This game was an anomaly. In 17 minutes we were down a goal and a player. It’s almost impossible and yet we were unlucky not to have a penalty in the second half at 1-0 (for me Castrovilli vs. Ronaldo is a penalty but so be it) and Borja should’ve received a second yellow card for his challenge in the second half (Prandelli subbed him off almost immediately after)
The main thing that bothered me today was in the 81st minute, 2-0 down, Bonucci, wearing the captain’s band, decides it’s a good time to start dribbling forward from our half. He lost the ball that led to the 3-0. That was a completely brain dead play and I wouldn’t ever want to see the captain of Juventus do something like this
The referee was terrible but we were even worse. Cuadrado must have owed Prandelli a Christmas gift
bonucci was disastrous that game. i only watched highlights but seems like he is more or less responsible for all 3 of the goals fiorentina scored. him and alex sandro that was not expected

Everyone has written Hakimi - Theo on top 11 and I remember both fullbacks were Real Madrid players

It’s not that unexpected. Bonucci and defensive lapses go hand in hand but this was easily one of his worst matches ever
Sadly, this is also Alex Sandro. He’s good for a handful of errors leading to goals per year. Especially last season coming into this one

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
Napoli head coach Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed that he been suffering from a flare up of ocular myasthenia.
Napoli head coach Gennaro Gattuso admitted "only a crazy person like me would keep going" after revealing he is suffering with a flare-up of an auto-immune disease.
Gattuso wore an eye patch on the touchline during Napoli's 2-0 defeat to Lazio in Rome on Sunday, and also sported specialised glasses as his team drew 1-1 with Torino in their final game of 2020 on Wednesday.
The former Milan and Italy midfielder suffers from an auto-immune disease known as ocular myasthenia.
It is a condition that causes the muscles that control the eyes to weaken and the eyelids to droop, while it can also lead to severe fatigue and double vision.
Nevertheless, Gattuso has carried on, but the Napoli boss conceded he has been suffering.
"I admit I've not been myself for the last 12 days," Gattuso told a news conference, having skipped media duties for Napoli's previous outing.
"I want to make an appeal to all those, especially kids, who look in the mirror and see something that looks odd or not quite right: life is beautiful. Embrace it all.
"The lads suffered too seeing me like this, I know that, but I'm alive. I've had myasthenia for 10 years, this is the third time it has flared up this badly, but it'll pass and my eye will return to normal.
"It's not just that it looks bad, this condition makes you feel really exhausted, plus seeing double 24 hours a day really takes it out of you. Only a crazy person like me would keep going.
"However, this is my life and there are worse things. I know some out there already assume I've got a month left to live, but I can assure you, it's fine. When I eventually die, I want to go where I lived, on a football pitch."
Napoli enjoyed a strong start to the season, though have tailed off in recent games, winning just one of their last five outings in all competitions.
They sit fifth in Serie A, nine points behind leaders Milan, though with a game in hand on the Rossoneri.

Generally agree with most of your teams of the season except that I can't see how Hakimi gets in over Cuadrado, or really at all, and putting Zlatan there since he has played less than half the matches.

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
I''ve inserted Cuadrado, best Juve player this year, but as winger in a hypotethical 4-4-2
He hasn't been fullback as in Sarri year.
Yes , even Hakimi, but it was a good way for putting both players.
Cuadrado is a key player for Juve and in fact I'm curious to read about his ban . He might miss the decisive match against Milan . Decisive because it might be the last Scudetto train for Juve. Yes, it's just January and we're talkin' about best roster on paper ... But I feel this

Theo will be suspended against Benevento upon Serie A return, due to accumulated yellow cards, but will be available against Juventus.
Still no ETA on ibra, bennacer, gabbia, kjaer return. Kessie will be back against Benevento onwards.

Re: Calcio Saga 20/21
A shout to teams like Sassuolo ; last year about mid-seasons they came firing cylinders and they haven't lost any of their spark.
Caputo, Berardi (even though i dont like his diving and theatrics), Jeremy Boga, and now Hamed Junior Traorè is another star in the making ... on loan from Empoli FC but they now have position to buy him at the end of the season. Watch the space ... that kid Traore is going to be amazing.
Still have reservations on locatelli on individual level but he works just fine on that team.
On Hellas Verona, Zaccagni has been so good this season. But tbh their midfield is also very good - i know robes dont rate di marco that much plus he was a bit of a liability against Inter but him and faraoni has been overall really good - not just now but even last season. Veloso as well pulling the string. That kid ivan illic was a nightmare against us and would be interesting to watch but seems he is only on loan from mancity. incredibly good with ball, defensive and offensive aspects of the game. a bit like xhaka

This is no jinx or anything, literally our bogey team. Never beat them. Remember when they lost every match then they faced us and their fkin keeper scored a stoppage time equalizer And with Pippo being the coach, you know banter gods will have him out of all people end our unbeaten run.

Bogey team for just a year .
This Is the year where Milan have won a derby , thing not made for 4 long years (10 years if we include the home derby), that is enough to kill every discourse based on traditions

If you read this thread and take it seriously you would think that every match Milan plays is a miraculous victory
They’ve been underdogs in every game this season. It makes the run even more impressive
Milan will decimate Benevento and then lose to Juventus

Harmful in Champions League, legit in Serie A but overally not good yes though.
Anyway at least he came for 0 euro
My name as worst transfer is Muriqi (Lazio)
That Kosovian player who had played against Milan
Lazio paid him even 20 mln, it's rare to see Lazio being wrong about signings but well , this player is awful
Not just for San Siro match, he's always been this year

Benevento isn't simply a bogey team, they're a nightmare team for us. And Pippo has been doing extraordinarily well for them as they are currently sitting in midtable, add to the fact that we play away and we're his former team. He'll be fired up to annihilate us whatever the cost

On that note it must be mentioned Pippo has improved tremendously even if some odd decisions. The Milan meme of him must end as it is as the only dangerous player we had under him was Menez added with it was his first ever coaching job in pro football.
Further proves why Pippo will end our unbeaten streak easily.
