Bayern, Dortmund, Leipzig.. I'm gonna take a risk and say Köln, even though they were terrible last season.
Who will get relegated
Augsburg. I don't know who else. I'm not a long-time follower of the league.
Who will be top goalscorer
Again, I'll take a risk and say Alexander Sørloth. Would be impressive if he could do it in his first season, if ever.
Who will get sacked first/which club will sack their coach first
Markus Gisdol/FC Köln.
Most disappointing team of the season
I want to say RB Leipzig, but they still have a lot of talent in that team, assuming they don't sell more key players. If Sørloth flops, I imagine they'll become the most disappointing team of the season, based on expectations.
Most overachieving team of the season
Would be funny if it turns out to be Köln, but my guess would be Eintracht Frankfurt.
Breakthrough player of the season
Alexander Sørloth will likely be in a prime position to be that player, but I have no idea. He's looked good for Norway recently, but I'm not familiar with how he plays on a regular basis. Was always on the bench whenever I decided to watch him at Crystal Palace.
Hee-Chan. One of RB Salzburg's standout performers. I've barely watched him play, but I approve of his work ethic. Seems to have 3 lungs, similarly to his fellow countryman, Ji Sung Park.
In Dortmund, there's Reinier who's on loan from Real Madrid. Not familiar with him at all, but I've read nothing but praise for his talent. Seems to have been a standout performer in his first and last season for Real Madrid Castilla. There's also Jude Bellingham, but I think it's too early for him. There's going to be a lot of exciting, young talent in Bundesliga this season!
Flop of the season
I have no clue. Probably one of the possible breakthrough players I mentioned.

Hmm. There might be very well a Norwegian top Torjäger this season, but surely it would be Haaland?!
Tough choice between Haaland and Lewa tbh, given the kid's uncanny scoring ability and his killer instinct. I just figured that Favre's BVB won't create enough for him to beat out Lewa, after all.
Sörloth, I just don't see him scoring that much for Leipzig, it's not how they play, at least how it was with Werner's role.
As for Köln, not a chance for top 4, I don't see any of the lower table teams make that high up a foray this season. I think Gladbach might be disappointing expectations this season (in relation to the very high expectations people have now of them under Rose mind you), but neither them nor Leverkusen will fall beneath teams like Köln. Also Frankfurt won't be as overperforming this season as we got used to them being.
Actually, I think the relegation fight will involve more than half of the teams in the league this season.
Including Schalke lmao.
Also, it's funny that you have Köln as suprise achievers in top 4, but also as the first to sack their coach
That would be some collossal new manager boune post-Gisdol
Reinier looks great tbh. And Bellingham looks absolutely ready, I just didn't have him as my breakout player as I want to hype Nianzou.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
I didn't pick Haaland, simply because picking him wouldn't be interesting at all. Sørloth was a more interesting pick, because I know nothing about him other than him being tall, strong and fast. Like Haaland, he's physically imposing, yet deceptively fast. I don't know how we've managed to produce two of those. I don't know what to expect from him, and since I have no expectations, it'll be more entertaining if he does have a breakthrough season.
Gisdol became manager of Köln last season, and they have been absolutely terrible under him, so far. I don't expect much to change in that camp, but again, it would make things interesting if they do turn things around. Frankfurt seems to have spent some money in this transfer window already. If anything, they're showing some ambition.
I've never heard of Nianzou. Sounds Chinese.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
Nianzou is our new 18 year old French CB kid from PSG's youth. Name is Nianzou Tanguy Kouassi, but he wants to be called Nianzou.
As for Sörloth, under Nagelsmann he will have a perfect environment to prosper, if he's good. Will be interesting to see.
FWIW, I expect that Hwang will flop

No fucking idea how on earth our players are supposed to be motivated, psychologically ready and anything resembling to physically or mentally fit to tackle the challenge of a new league season, after this ridiculously short break.
I'm not even sure whether I have the stamina for 90 minutes.
oh well
should suffice to beat Schalke

3-0 after 30 minutes, with Serda, Schalke's best midfielder hs to go off injured, not a good start for the royal blue

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
FIY the only reason why haven't put Wagner at Schalke as the first to be sacked is that I'm pretty sure Schalke's financial state is so desolate that they can't actually afford to pay his compensation while having to pay the next coach. They just lack the liquidity, and probably still have to pay for Weinzierl and Tedesco.
Without Covid I think Wagner'd have been gone already.

Have Bayern been linked to a Thiago replacement Hans? I'm aware Kimmich will be the starting 6, but having a back up controller would be good for them imo

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
8-0 home win,
Gnabry hattrick,
Sané with a goal and 2 assists on his debut,
Chris Richards and Jamal Musiala getting a game,
Musiala becoming the clubs youngest ever Bundesliga goalscorer with 17 1/2, beating Roque Santa Cruz's record
A great end to a sad day

Nope. Not so far.
Tolisso back from his ACL is "like a new signing"
Cuisance will get a chance at some playing time, to show whether he can channel his considerable talent into something useful (jury's out on his mental capacity IMO).
And then there is Münchens own Adrian Fein
The funds will probably first be used on a backup RB, Ajax' Dest is rumoured.
With Thiago we lose irreplaceable quality. But I agree we should probably at least try.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
eh, shouldn't it be called "substitutes", not "substitutions"?
I like how they added that black arrow pointing from the area that says "starting eleven" to the list of players, so that there is no misunderstandings
