OK, now that Bale and Reguilion are now gone, there's just a few roster questions. Note: it is possible that club can retain all of current remaining players. Squad number with all is 26, but they can keep Practice GK off official squad numbers. Also it seems the club will use Blanco on occasion as a backup to Casemiro, but they can do that leaving him in Castilla squad numbers.

There are 2 per position (except GK) except for RB and CF.

RB - It's between Lucas and Odriozola as backup to Carvajal.

CF- there are now 3 backups to Benzema; Jovic, Mayoral and Mariano. Apparently Jovic wants a loan to get more playing time (?) IMO he needs to earn his playing time and convince Zidane he is right for this club. If he does go on loan then it becomes the start of an outward transfer and he is just proving he was a bad purchase as no doubt Mbappe and / or Haaland  are coming in next year.

And both Mayoral and Mariano were supposed to be gone.
Mayoral on last year of contract was going to Valencia but that fell thru and since then seems there are no takers.

Similarly Mariano was going to Benfica but he killed deal insisting on his 4M salary. Now he has tonsillitis which likely will keep him here past trade deadline.

So what do you think, who should be the final players on squad?

There are 3 Italian offers for Nacho. Not sure if he will bite plus there isn’t a 4th CB available. If he does go, it gives team another exposure.

And Roma have expressed interest in Mayoral. Price asked by club is 15M (which is lower than the 20M Valencia was asked to pay). If he does go, it would leave only Mariano to he deal with (or not!).

Meanwhile there still are the rumours that Jovic wants a loan and apparently Cavani’s agent (Sergio Ramos’ brother) is talking with club even though Flo reiterated no new signings including free signing of Cavani.

Mayoral is signing a renewed contract and is on his way to Roma. That move will complete the roster for this season. That is 2 for every position plus versatile squad player Lucas and 3rd striker Mariano plus practice GK. And we can assume Blanco on Castiila roster if something happens to Casemiro.
