Man C and Pep tends like to fuk up in the CL, so even vs this Real team whos comparatively weaker than the past few years, Im not optimistic at all about them stopping Real from overturning it.

It seems playing Fernandinho at the back and have Rodri in the DM this season has been a key problem right? I just dont see anything great about Rodri.

Anyway, I dont know how many years Man C are willing to wait for the CL, maybe its a mental block or some luck needed.

I think if City can avoid conceding an early goal they should be able to see themselves through. If City goes with a 433 and they concede an early one I can see them choking it away as per usual in the CL.

Agreed. With Ramos I would have given Madrid a decent chance but Militão is Norwich level player.

The thing is you would think City would be extremely  motivated in the CL after the last min disallowed goal against Spurs last year. The likes of KDB and Sterling are chomping at the bit for redemption.

The problem is that they've proven to be a mentally weak team in the CL. I feel if they can go past Madrid, they'll have the confidence to win it all. However I just feel like in these big European matches, the pressure gets to them which leads to an end to end game which they end up losing.

Madrid is the king of the CL, but their three most clutch players in the previous years, Cristiano, Ramos, and Bale all aren't available. If they were I really wouldn't give City a chance tbh.

Instead they'll be fielding the likes of Vinicius and as much as I like him he is the complete opposite of a player who will win you the CL. He's not a killer in front of goal and that's who you need in the knockout stages. I mean there's that one percent chance he'll dribble past them and score the winning goal, but that 99% chance he'll miss countless opportunities which will lead to a Madrid exit lol.

Good to see Mahrez in the starting line up, at least we know who to blame should City exit CL tonight.

I hope it's a 4-4-2 ala the game against Liverpool and first match against Madrid and not a 4-3-3.

This City team is really beatable though. They aren't a team that can stop opposition from scoring. mediocre to poor defenders and defensive midfielders. But if KDB is in the mood then the game is over in 20 minutes.

If Hazard had stayed injury-free and gelled well with his team mates, I would have tipped him to be as decisive for Madrid as KDB is for City. Alas, I agree that if his blond compatriot is horny for it he will punish a Ramos-less Madrid line up to the point of humiliation.
