Re: UCL R16 2019/20 | Real Madrid Vs Manchester City
Guardiola conquers Bernabéu once again. The guy must love it there shoving it in 60,000 Madrid fans on a regular basis. For a coach who's away CL record is abysmal, this is an atrocious result for Madrid.
I guess I got my hopes up too early. Madrid crumbled Arsenal style in a space of two weeks from being favourites in both La Liga and this CL encounter to being second best in both competitions. They'll be following Barça closely in Liga and have a chance to go up again this weekend but this CL tie is all but lost.
Ole out.

Pep taking a page out of the Mou playbook and playing Jesus as a LB. Reminiscent of the 2010 Eto'o days.
When I saw Otamendi screw up again, I thought it would be another one of those ties. City creates chances, miss them, and then the opponent scores from their screw up. So I'm quite surprised they managed to make a comeback.
Mahrez is shit and so is Otamendi. They aren't winning the CL with those two starting. One misses all his chances and the other gifts the opponent all of theirs. At least Mahrez can pull some magic every now and then, Otamendi though is absolutely awful. Rodri is sus too but Fernandinho needs to be starting CB since there's no other option.
Good result for City. It should be enough to see them through, but knowing them they'll probably throw it all away. I wouldn't rule Madrid out.

Who's going to step up for Madrid with Ramos missing the next leg though? City as good as through imo

About Ramos I dont really understand it this time, it was Casemiro who gave the ball away and Ramos actually just touched Jesus slightly and he over down looking for it, so it was a harsh one, but obviously everyone jumps on it becos its Ramos

We might be able to nick a goal or two if City lets their guard down or makes a mistake in their own half, but I really can't see us winning the tie because frankly our strikers suck.

The red card wasn't harsh. Obviously it wasn't anything too bad and Jesus milked it but Ramos denied an obvious goalscoring opportunity which is a red card. However it actually was a good decision by him as a goal from Jesus would have ended the tie.

Pep can even pull his usual away game nonsense at the Bernabeu and, say, employ Rodri as right winger while benching both Sterling and De Bruyne and playing Fernandinho as left back and Jesus tasked with manmarking Ramos, and still get it done at home.
not too far from the mark tbh

We have no attack. when Isco is your best hope to score .
If Vinicius had half decent decision making and final ball, he could be top 10 player in the world. but the kid is 50% speed, 50% dribbling and 0% finall ball. i have never seen anything like it lol.

It's funny not only because Real had unbelievably bad calls in their favour in each of their last 3 CL runs, but also because this is literally the most nonsensical thing to complain about. It wasn't even close to being a foul.

Re: UCL R16 2019/20 | Real Madrid Vs Manchester City
I think he can be better.
His problem is that he's playing under Zidane who's really not the best at developing young talent. What he really needs to do is look for opportunities elsewhere because he's really wasting his time here.
I don't know if he'll ever become elite, but he will never reach his full potential playing here. Same goes for the other youngsters.
I really wonder what Madrid were thinking when they decided to adopt this youth policy. Not only are we hurting ourselves with it, but we're also hurting the careers of those kids.
Maybe it might lead to something in the long term, but we're getting nothing out of it in the short time as we're looking at a potential trophyless season for the second year running.

To be perfectly fair, City are a really good team that looked largely tired and uninspired in this particular match against Chelsea. The league was already out of their reach, they’re comfortably ahead of Leicester.
There’s a stark contrast between City at their best, and what we saw from them against Chelsea. They’ve had quite a few issues this season, but I wouldn’t underestimate them.

Luckily for Madrid there will be no crowd in Manchester. So you will still get the away goal rule advantage but without the home team having a home advantage.
All the stars are aligning for Madrid to win the double.

- Spoiler:
- I would equally be happy if you lose both.
Re: UCL R16 2019/20 | Real Madrid Vs Manchester City
Would the crowd have mattered anyway? It's City, not exactly Boca fans we talking about lol.

Re: UCL R16 2019/20 | Real Madrid Vs Manchester City
City are bound to give you opportunities to score the needed 2 goals if you press them hard enough. The likes of Mendy, Rodri, Laporte and Otamendi have shown consistent choking when pressed.
The question is whether wasteful players like Vinícius will take their chances this one time and your tactics will protect Carvajal from having brainfarts against Sterling (or any winger with quick feet).
PS: Just remembered Ramos was sent off in the home match. GG.

Without Ramos it's going to be very difficult but we still have Casemiro who is as clutch. Hoping Vini starts alongside Hazard. We can score two definitely but without Ramos we might collapse at the back because after nearly 5/6 seasons at the club Varane still needs his hands held by Ramos. Smh

Re: UCL R16 2019/20 | Real Madrid Vs Manchester City
Man C and Pep tends like to fuk up in the CL, so even vs this Real team whos comparatively weaker than the past few years, Im not optimistic at all about them stopping Real from overturning it.
It seems playing Fernandinho at the back and have Rodri in the DM this season has been a key problem right? I just dont see anything great about Rodri.
Anyway, I dont know how many years Man C are willing to wait for the CL, maybe its a mental block or some luck needed.
