Yeah, Neymar was so needed. The match was still fucking garbage but it was so nice to see Neymar kick a ball again.

PSG are going to be good. First game for Herrera + Icardi + Cavani should get some playing time against Madrid + Mbappe 1-2 weeks away + Marquinhos coming back soon + Kehrer not too far away + etc.

They've had a lot of players missing to start the season and preseason. Forced to play the likes of Draxler, Sarabia and even Di Maria in the midfield. Don't need to do that anymore.

A lot of players that have something to prove, which is a good thing given that there's little domestic competition.

Tuchel needs to get his act together.  He has no idea how to manage a team with superstars.

Not Neymar's fault...  but whenever he plays, the game is too focused on him and PSG loses its overall play.  You can get away with it in Ligue 1 and when you have Mbappe to open up spaces and combine with.  But in bigger games, it becomes quite simple to defend.  Just cover that side of the pitch.

You have the EXACT same issue when Mbappe plays and Neymar is missing...  it's predictable and takes a genius play from Mbappe to open up scoring.  With Neymar, it works great in Ligue 1.  But in bigger games, you have problems.

It's all on Tuchel. When his superstars play, there's not variety. It's literally "get the ball to Neymar and/or Mbappe" and see what happens.

With that midfield and defense? Um, ok. Sure, they'll be good for another R16 KO. Perhaps a QF berth might be possible.

Defense is ok through the middle. Navas makes a HUGE.... HUUUUUGE difference. Fullbacks are meh.

Midfield of Herrera, Gueye, Verratti is actually very good.  They just haven't been healthy yet.  First game Herrera is back.

The PSG ultras said before the game they'd boo him this game and then it would be over... pretty much a one game protest from fans.

It wasn't that violent. I've seen FAR worse by a lot of fans for other teams. This was relatively mild.

Monaco's issue is defense and that's it. The centerbacks are downright horrible... That needs to get fixed.

What has happened to Fabregas? He looks so much worse than he was a Chelsea.

I feel like what ever issues are at Monaco are deeper than just bad CBs.

There is more than enough quality to win games with the players they have.

a lot of late window activity. Monaco hasn't had the time to bring the players into any coherent system... especially on defense.

He has been around forever you must admit and remains just 32 at this point but we have seen that either he peaked very early in his career or simply lost his confidence after his controversial Barça stint and never truly hit the same heights with Chelsea despite a serviceable tenure. (And your opinion?)

Fabregas as incredibly skilled he is along with his honed footballing IQ is a player who works well when others around him facilitate his role given he is a languid player by nature and is generally uncomfortable when forced to perform roles outside of what he does best, to which I saw hints of at Chelsea.

Jardim is a fantastic coach but this is not the Monaco we saw years ago and the midfield really has not adapted to his strengths nor support him well per say. Not to say he is entitled to that but generally big moves to Monaco do not seem to pan out successfully for the players raised and cropped from their pastures are the notable names, not their big transfer who generally find it difficult to adapt.

Fab was not always great at Chelsea, he certainly had his periods of greatness, his first season and Conte's first season, but he always hit his passes and he always had a keen eye.

This Fabregas was not hitting his passes and seemed invisible for large parts of the game. Like he was playing for the paycheck or something instead of playing to win.

You are right that he needs to be utlised in the correct way, which Monaco are clearly not doing, but he did not do himself any favours either.
