So assuming it happens, surely that means someone is leaving or maybe two.
If not this window by next summer? I can't see Dembele, Suarez, Neymar, Griezmann and Messi is working long term lol.

PSG would be melts to not demand Dembele as a must. These Coutinho rumours are weird. Why’d they want him at all.

As well as Radio MARCA.
But this is clear and obvious to everyone this is your deal to make, it's in your hands, if you drop this it's on you too

Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
Would Barça fans be happy to include Dembélé as part of the deal to PSG for Neymar?
Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
I think so. Dembele is still young and has a lot of potential, but he'll never reach the level and talent of Neymar.
He's an established world beater in his prime. It's a no brainer.
I just hope PSG won't sell him to them though. We're struggling as it is, give them Neymar and we might as well quit football and go watch Keeping up with the Kardashians or something.

I would be personally, yes. Most Barca fans would not because they believe Dembélé is young so he will become a world beater automatically but after 2 seasons of Dembélé I think we can all agree that his ceiling is a very good player, like Di Maria in his prime but not a whole lot more. Neymar on the other hand played young Messi level football at some point and is still 27. I take Neymar for 5 seasons over Dembélé for 10 seasons any time.
Having said that, Dembélé won't be sold. No rumours whatsoever about Dembélé swap and Bartomeu officially ruled it out as well.

Dembele will never reach half the talent of Neymar. If Madrid were to threathen the negotiations, I would gladly give up Dembouz and thank the buyers in the process.

Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
In what world is getting a 27 year old star player back, who
- has previously, royally and comprehensively, fucked your club over by letting himself be bought out of his contract last minute without telling you beforehand
-forced you to panic spend the 200+m release fee with his timing and silence
- was afterwards embroiled with your club in a bitter legal battle over millions of bonuses
-all that after having previously been responsible for your club president having to resign and being actually convicted of corruption due to the transfer deal with his dad
- has since behaved in a rather unprecedentedly toxic mixture of arrogance, unprofessionalism, douchery, and blatant disrespect towards the club he moved to, its fans, and also his teammates
- is always injured for several months of the season in which he disappears to Brazil, partying there while skipping team meeting or events
- has developed into a player more busy with off and on field antics than actual top performances, having wasted his recent 'prime' years more or less on strike, in a league he disrespects, a team he disrespects, all because of greed and narcissism
- commands a yearly salary of probably 50m-75m €, when your club is already severely struggling with a too high wage bill, thus tilting the wage bill further into unmanouverability
-commands another massive, even bigger fee to get him back which will need you to throw out younger players which you acquired in an effort to future sqaud planning (Dembélé..)
.. a "NO BRAINER"?
No brainer means it's something you don't even need to think about.
I would say one should think long and hard whether they want this POS, let alone have him back.
But then Barca themselves have become the single most despicable club in top football, so I guess, soulmates?

Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
Neymar is 27 and he's the second best player in the world. No brainer.
On a personal level, he's a great friend of the dressing room and I'm pretty sure the management does not hold any grudges toward him.

Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
I agree with pretty much everything. The whole move was bad for both parties, Neymar being the culprit here. He chose easy money and momentary increase in fame over playing football with the best player in the world. Barcelona also acted immaturely. They themselves had put the release clause in Neymar's contract but when they realised they were defeated they acted in a childish manner. And of course panic spending all that money on two numpties was insult to injury, but was expected from the current board who understand nothing football wise.Hapless_Hans wrote:In what world is getting a 27 year old star player back, who

Still, you can be absolutely sure Barcelona will not be paying Neymar more than PSG were giving him, and will make a net profit from his transfer overall i.e. no chance of Barça paying €222 million (not to account inflation) to PSG because the player wants to leave and that automatically reduces the asking price.
Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
Why does it automatically reduce the asking price though? Neymar is Neymar, he's going to be expensive. And it's not like PSG have to sell or need money.
They'll let him leave provided that whoever is interested in buying him pays up.
I expect the deal to be at least in the region of €200M. Barça will have to use many players as makeweight because they sure as hell don't have the funds to make it a straight cash deal.

Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
The word is Coutinho + 100M (most likely not paid at once). Which is fine by me. Coutinho has 0 sporting value for Barca. Behind Sergi Roberto in the midfield pecking order and behind Messi, Suarez, Dembélé, Griezmann in the frontline pecking order.

PSG are melts if they manage to lose Neymar without getting Dembele.
I’d rather do a straight Dembele - Neymar swap than get Coutinho and 100m

Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
Barcelona have two options on the table for PSG which they will present during today's meeting. One option exists of players and cash while the other is a loan with a mandatory purchase option in 2020. [rac1]

Re: L'Equipe: PSG open to selling Neymar
So only Barca have been making offers. I bet the Neymar camp have been using RM to get Barca to hurry with getting a deal done with PSG.
The media in turn have been adding 1+1 and getting 3. Claiming we have a better relationship with PSG (which we have) but also using that to say we have been negotiating for him which we most likely haven't.
ZZ wants one more player to complete his team. Why would he sanction Neymar as a consolation price for not getting his Pogba. They don't even play the same position. Not to mention he isn't even fond of him.
And why would we suddenly be interested in the last week when he's been angling out since January. This is without even discussing the brickwall that is negotiating a similar contract he has with PSG with Perez. Him coming to Madrid is totally out of the question. It's sort of a band aid to hide the completely and utterly finished midfield we are currently rocking starring 50 year old Modric.
Forgetting Neymar, we need 2 new midfielders, and if Perez is dilly dallying trying to get ZZ's approval all while completely neglecting that we are in a dire need of a midfield facelift he is going to be evicerated when we predictably lose in spectacular fashion in every home game
