Ajax vs Spurs
Re: 2018/19 UEFA Champions League Semi Final: Ajax vs Tottenham Hotspurs
Honestly, if I look back to how easily we dealt with Ajax in their home stadium, in the group phase
Complete domination
Felt like playing a 2nd division team
Don't think we managed to dominate any other team like that, under Kovac. Not even Düsseldorf, or Heidenheim.
Makes me wonder why these other teams manage so poorly
Think Spurs will still pull this off after teh initial shock

Son will be back for the second leg. Kane might be back, as well.

Oddly enough Ajax seem to play better AWAY than at home.
Same applied versus Juventus and Real Madrid.

Yeah same applied to vs us in group phase. Played well at the Allianz Arena.
Spurs have taken over here, though. Ajax need to watch out as they've completely lost momentum and traction

As good as this Ajax are, they seem to have the typical achilles hill of being poor on set-pieces.
Long balls up the lampost Llorente might be the answer for Spurs.

What a match so far.
Wanyama, what a shit show this guy is. Was the weak link against City and today too. On the other hand, Sissoko is such a boss. Absolutely love watching this guy play.
Ajax are a better team on the ball but Spurs can hurt them by playing English style hoofball. Looking forward to the second half

Pogba usually likes the big stage if I am not wrong. He mostly turns up on big occasions.

Pogba scored a goal in Utd's EL final, as well as being the best Juve player by far in their final vs Barca.
So you're wrong.
It's simply that since that EL final, United have not have any big games of note where Pogba could have stepped up.

Ajax are utterly dominating, but spurs could be ahead if Llorente and Toby could aim a header.

Neither does Pogba, but he seems to be shielded from criticism in that regard, for some reason.

He also performed well in the second leg vs Man City. Other than that, his performances have ranged from acceptable to outright underwhelming. At 26 years old, I personally wouldn't consider that a positive track record.

Re: 2018/19 UEFA Champions League Semi Final: Ajax vs Tottenham Hotspurs
I haven't watched until just tuning in now, but Spurs don't even have a single CM playing. Spurs literally aren't playing midfielders
Eriksen is extremely effective when a team has possession and he can knock the ball about and pick passes. He's not as effective in a team like this because Eriksen isn't quick, he's not got pace, and he doesn't really play on the break well.
Spurs have realized they're going to lose the midfield battle and my guess is that in the first half they're trying to play hoofball?
They should. They just don't have the players to match Ajax in a straight up game.
