Summer 2019 confirmed transfers and contracts
FC Bayern wrote:Lucas Hernandez will join FC Bayern Munich from Atletico Madrid on 1 July 2019. The 23-year-old defender has been handed a five-year contract until 2024 with Atletico Madrid receiving €80 million for the transfer.
“I’m very happy to be able to sign one of the best defenders in the world, a World Cup winner, in Lucas Hernandez,” said FC Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. “Lucas can play both in central defence and at left-back. Moreover, Lucas will continue our great tradition of French footballers and improve our team.”

That's our transfer record doubled right there
FC Bayern wrote:During his medical examination, it was discovered that Hernandez has suffered damage to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, and after discussions with Atletico he will undergo surgery today.
“During the medical examination we found damage to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee that must be remedied through surgery,” said FC Bayern club doctor Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt. “Based on experience, Lucas Hernandez will be available for FC Bayern by the start of the 2019/20 Bundesliga season.”
Hernandez explained, "This is a really important day in my footballing career. FC Bayern Munich is one of the best clubs in Europe and the world. I’m proud to be able to fight for all possible titles with Bayern. I’d like to thank Atletico, the management, the coaches, my teammates and the fans for 12 wonderful years. Atletico will always remain a part of me. Now I’m looking forward to taking the next step with FC Bayern.”
Wait what?!

Imagine paying 80 million for someone with damage to their MCL requiring surgery to be fixed

Re: Summer 2019 confirmed transfers and contracts
MCL isn't a big deal. ACL is the problem. Partial tear is the big key here... full tear and the deal would be off.
You CAN allow time to heal it naturally btw. That's what Umtiti did. Lucas and Bayern just chose this method.

"FC Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic..."
I didn't know that ass hat is Bayern's sporting director now. My hate has now grown for Bayern nicely. Also, hope Lucas flops imo (great signing though).

His performances were average for Atlético. I'd say they've done very well to get €80 million for an injured player
This is more of a case of Bayern getting nostalgic about Lizarazu than the player's merit

Top signing
flexibility is vital, with him and Pavard allowing Bayern to switch between back 3/back 4 without change of personnel

Re: Summer 2019 confirmed transfers and contracts
Ajax bought Răzvan Marin (CM with good defensive & offensive work rate), possibly the best Romanian football player in Europe right now. Digisport, a Romanian sports news agency says it's Ajax's 3rd most expensive acquisition in their history. They are paying Standard Liege 12.5 mil euros.
Bogdan Lobonț, Cristian Chivu and George Ogăraru are some of the past Romanian players who played for Ajax and each of them turned out to be exceptional players, especially Chivu.
Considering that Romanian football's level dropped incredibly low, this is very good news for us. Hopefully Marin will do a great job in NL.

I don't really know anything about him but I'm excited. Do you think he'll work as a replacement for de Jong or is he a different type of player?

Julian Brandt (23) from Leverkusen to Dortmund. Transfer fee 25m € (fixed releases clause). Kicker claim he turned down offers from Arsenal and Spurs to join BVB.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thorgan Hazard (26) from Gladbach to Dortmund. Fee reported 25.5m € plus potential addons (kicker).

Nico Schulz (23) from Hoffenheim to Dortmund. Transfer fee reported 25m € (kicker)
So basically, BVB have signed two top attacking players from direct CL rivals for the money they got for Pulisic, and then used the last part of it to raid Hoffenheim for their German NT defender to upgrade that LB Schmelzer problem spot they tried to fill with Guerreiro, Toljan, and Hakimi

It's 95m already with Paco Alcacer joining permanently for ~20m €
But that's nothing new
They spent >90m € last season (Diallo, Delaney, Witsel, Balerdi, Wolf), 110m € the season before (Yarmolenko, Akanji, Philipp, Toprak, Dahoud, Sancho, Toljan), and even 120m € in 16/17 (Schürrle, Götze, Dembélé, Rode, Guerreiro, Mor, Isak, Bartra, Merino).
They're basically raiding every good Bundesliga player that can't climb a tree at the count of three, and many of them end up not working. But it's effective in destroying the competition.

Not really. It's not unreasonable, but it's a lot of money for an unproven one season wonder. Only in the best case sceario will we say it was a bargain.
