Really the best draw we could have hoped for even if the return leg is not at Anfield but a very intimidating Estádio do Dragão.
Not a tie to be underestimated as Conceição is a fiery and highly respected manager and possesses some notable names in his squad.
Bound to be a fantastic game of football, both ties.

Happy with the draw, one of the teams that you would pick if you could hand pick your ties. Just need to do better at Anfield than we done against Bayern.

My only concern is we may take it a bit lightly given how easily we overwhelmed them last season. Also, a crucial game against Chelsea is sandwiched between the legs.

This would either be a proper beating from Pool or Porto giving them a serious scare.
Both scenarios still have Pool winning btw.

Porto scored 15 goals in the group stage, which was behind only PSG and City, they seem perfectly capable of scoring at Anfield if we don't play well. I suppose the best case scenario for us is that Porto come and play attacking football and our forwards do what they do best, score goals from counter-attacks.

I don't think Pool will roll over them, I expect them to be quite competitive at home at least but I do think you should progress rather comfortably unless the team decide to phone it in like you did vs Bayern first leg.

Rooting for Porto because of Casillas. Respect the guy and still have a soft spot for him.

Liverpool will destroy them
It's been a while since Porto is only there as prestigious punching bag in KO rounds. They score 15 goals which is good, but 7 of them are against Lokomotiv. Probably they had the weakest group i have ever seen.

Evident a lot here have not witnessed this Porto who are a lot stronger than they are being given credit for.
Conceição has turned out to be a terrific talent in terms of coaching and a notable leader at that and has had a squad with overlooked talent performing beyond to what we have witnessed in the Northern side.
Marega is definitely the one to watch out for. Lethal goalscorer and literally seems to have endless stamina.

Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Liverpool Vs FC Porto
Dejan Lovren starts in defence as Liverpool make three changes for the Champions League clash with FC Porto tonight.
The centre-back is named in Jürgen Klopp’s XI for the first time since January 7 for the opening leg of the quarter-final tie at Anfield, with Joel Matip among the substitutes – along with Joe Gomez, who returns to the matchday squad after recovering from injury.
Jordan Henderson and James Milner are also restored to the line-up, replacing Georginio Wijnaldum and the suspended Andy Robertson.
Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Milner, Fabinho, Henderson, Keita, Salah, Mane, Firmino.
Substitutes: Mignolet, Wijnaldum, Gomez, Sturridge, Shaqiri, Origi, Matip.

Interesting team, we can say goodbye to attacking from the left since we will have no width from Milner assuming he doesn't get a yellow in the first 15 and subbed off.

The spirit of Ramos lives within Casillas & Pepe... Salah to hurt his shoulder again.

I guess it's a natural selection: Wijnaldum needed to be rested while Robertson is suspended.Nishankly wrote:Interesting team, we can say goodbye to attacking from the left since we will have no width from Milner assuming he doesn't get a yellow in the first 15 and subbed off.
I think instead of crosses, we will see Mane and Milner inter-changing on the left.

Since the start of last season, only Cristiano Ronaldo (24) has been directly involved in more goals in the Champions League than Firmino (20 - 12 goals, 8 assists).

I am impressed by Marega, has something in him to force a half chance out of nothing.
