Re: meaningless la liga
Love brahim starting. He is a very talented player. Seen him at man city while watching for mahrez. lovely footwork and technique, needs to bulk physically though or play less aggressively

Re: meaningless la liga
I am actually shocked to see Luca start, really didn't expect it at all. So my theory that Eriksen would be benched by Lucas Vasquez actually has some merit now @Freeza

Great cross, headed assist and finish by Bale, Benzema and Ceballos. 2-1.

His freekick earlier in the match is a pretty strong contender

Great finish by Benzema. His shots have mostly been underwhelming, but this goal will likely be decisive. Nacho has been awful this season.

Re: meaningless la liga
We've have all watched some serious cancer football from this team this season but I think this has to be a top 5 cancer performance. Oof. My boy Marcelo, hurts to see him like this but I really hope we just kindly guide him to Serie A or something.
Bale can fuck off though.

Watching Bale play is so excruciating. OUT
Marcelo too, needs to sit. Reguillon is the starter from now on

Re: meaningless la liga
We really suck. Barely winning against Huesca at home and getting outplayed for a decent amount of it.... is pretty amazing.
I started out the season with huge skepticism... evolved to expecting close to nothing. Yet, Madrid manages to produce less than that little bit I expect.

Also, Diaz wasn't bad especially for someone who got like 8 minutes of football under his belt lol. I see why TMO likes Valverde, hope he has a great career wherever it takes him. Isco was pretty poor throughout the match and Ceballos is still bae. Oh and Odri really want that RB spot and I personally would give him it but that's just me.

Re: meaningless la liga
Bale is so fucking terrible.
All people will remember is the one good pass in this game and then complain about how Madrid fans don't deserve a player like him.
__
I hate when other fans Madrid should be grateful to have Bale and that he's one of the best in the world.
Then when they're rumoured to get him they don't want their club to go anywhere near him.
Bale is other trash. He's a fine player at best tailor-made for the youtube highlight era. Guy can't put together 90 coherent minutes on a pitch.

Re: meaningless la liga
LMAO has Zidane now seriously installed his SON as Real Madrid goalkeeper?
His son that looks not quite tall enough to actually be a goalkeeper, no less
this is going to be even better than a Mourinho return
this will be an epic disaster

Re: meaningless la liga
Pretty sure his son got a run out because his team is playing the LAST PLACED TEAM in La Liga. Against Valencia, either Conetois or Navas would be starting.
Also, just feel like saying Bale can fuck off. Again.

Re: meaningless la liga
ZZ is a pragmatic coach. He doesn't take risks with his players
Courtois was injured, Navas (and Casemiro) arrived to training on Friday so weren't ready to play today. That leaves Luca as the very logical choice

His lack of reach looked quite comical when Huesca fired a shot over the goal. He looked shorter than 180cm, Nacho I don't know why he started. We've already got two, high-profile goalies fighting for that spot.

Re: meaningless la liga
and i also suspect that he wants to give minutes to the fringe players like brahim. We have a game coming this wednesday against Valencia, the usual starters will be there. Not much to learn from a game like this, if not that those who were bad before are still pretty bad like Marcelo, Bale, Nacho...

Re: meaningless la liga
I feel some of you are expecting a total instant transformation from what has been one of the worst seasons ever, both from a team perspective and in several cases individual performances.
These remaining games are not how well or not the team plays, it's all about transformation of attitude, effort and working hard to impress Zidane that they do deserve another opportunity next year.
You can see that effort in Benzema, Isco and several of the kids. You can also see people like Bale, Marcelo showing that they probably need to be replaced.
I think Zidane giving everyone a chance to impress is impressive. Note - playing his own son, sure is part of it as Luca was literally written off by previous coaches, yet he has played fairly well (& often) at Castilla this season and as noted above, Zidane really didn't have much of a choice for this game against last placed team.
My take aways from this game are:
1. Zidane will have more confidence in his bench strength next season as players that supposedly were in his dog house previously are completely different (& better) than they were a year ago. I'm expecting little changes with regards to bench strength. It is worth noting that there will likely be a surplus up front as we can anticipate quite a shakeup to starting 3 or 4.
2. Bale is finished on this team and possibly Marcelo as well.
3. I saw more energy and effort from Benz than I have seen in past three years.
4. Nacho needs to get his game back. He no doubt will remain as 4th CB and an overall emergence defense relief, but if his poor form is a direct result of little playing time, then it will only get worst next year. I feel both he and Lucas will be squad players next season and their playing time will be substantially reduced.
5. I feel sorry for Isco. He is IMO putting in the effort, but it sure looks like the only way he stays next season is as a backup. Of course it all depends on who is coming in plus who of current starters leave, but IMO it doesn't look good for him.
