Why not? Compare Liverpool before and after him. Liverpool went from an incredibly leaky defense to one of the most solid, and he is the biggest difference

Not really.

Liverpool's defense was already improved before Van Djik's arrived, which was largely by result of tactical twek by Klopp after when Liverpool got hammered by 1-4 against Tottenham last season.

Since that game, Liverpool went 18 matches undefeated (14 in the EPL). Van Djik came in and played in the team and helped but his first EPL game for the club in January actually ended in defeat & the end of that unbeaten run. Liverpool tightened up even before he arrived & Klopp lost patience with Mignolet after he fecked up at Arsenal & put in Karius which also improve the defence even more.

liverpool were a joke and i mean a joke at defending set plays and crosses before vvd came now we are one of the best at defending them. i cant remember the last player that has improved our team more than vvd. its amazing how one player could improve a team that much tbh.

he is a solid defender, i like his play and physicality, don't know about the best. don't know who i'd even categorize as the 'best' defender, but he has been solid this year, a sort of break out season (doesn't equate to best though), let's hope pool doesn't sell him to barcelona . i know i've mentioned this before, but @don'tcallmejames, i think your jordan gif is the best on this forum, makes me laugh everytime
