Re: UEFA Nations league
Friendly tournament, nothing more. They gave it a backdoor to Euro's just so they could deny that it's a friendly tournament.

Yeah but it's June (we lose to everyone in June going back to when i was a kid) and re the back 3... Varane is basically done. He looks slow. I also don't like playing Hernandez (Bayern) as the 3rd CB. Pogba is also immensely important for midfield creativity until Camavinga is ready (he plays for U21 right now).
Ibrahima Konate gets a look next game with Varane out (maybe Saliba too). Likely Kimpembe for Hernandez.
Deschamps was away (father passed) and he's normally very good at making in game adjustments.
All about nothing these June games. Most players on top teams are burnt. I just don't want anyone to get injured.

Re: UEFA Nations league
It's friendly until you get to the final 4 tournament... then teams who make it to that get serious. It's like the Europa league... nobody really cares until you get to the quarters.

Re: UEFA Nations league
I see... yep UEFA made this up so friendlies get more attention than they would have otherwise prolly... Belgium also lost 1-4 to Netherlands, n England now lost to Hungary, so pretty much just experimenting n warm up for the WC

Clear upgrade from friendlies.
Better to watch this new Italy experiments vs Germany than vs San Marino.

Re: UEFA Nations league
To put it in perspective of how Nation's League stacks up in a World Cup year... here's France's expected lineup against Croatia:
Maignan - Pavard, Saliba, Kimpembe - Clauss, Digne - Guendouzi Tchouaméni - Griezmann, Nkunku, Ben Yedder.
Other than Griezmann and maybe Kimpembe, that's the B team entirely.

That Norway v Sweden was really a terrible game. What's happened to Sweden? There's barely any talent on the team.

Re: UEFA Nations league
Sweden has about 5 technical player and it shows. This team is basically pass the ball to Isak, Kulusevski or Forsberg and hope they can conjure up some magic to score. At the moment both Denmark and Norway have a golden generation in terms of the players that are coming through. We have defenders that wouldn't cut it and your local after work team, a bunch of players you can tell do not play and train in good leagues and a handful of great players
I'll give Janne the benefit of doubt this NL as he is introducing a new formation to a team that has played 442 it's whole life
Elanga did very well when he came on. Hopefully that means we don't have to see Claesson anymore
I think this team and it's players is more suited to a 4231 than a 433 tbh. Forsberg can't defend but he is great between the lines
Isak is in terrible form and a massive reason why we capitulated in the last two games in the WC qualifiers
The team could potentially be:

Re: UEFA Nations league
Haaland was asked why he did a "hush" celebration for his second goal. He clarified that it wasn't intended towards the Swedish audience, but towards the CB, Goran Alexander Milosevic.
"first he called me a whore, which I can safely say that I am not! Then he threatened to break my legs. Half a minute later, I scored. That was pretty neat." he said with a smile on his face
Milosevic on the other hand, says that Haaland doesn't speak Swedish and he doesn't speak Norwegian, and so he doesn't understand how they could have communicated.
"It's strange that he claims things that I haven't said. As always, there are duels and trashtalk and everything. When I leave the pitch, I shake their hands and we leave it there. I don't know what I said to him, but the difference is that I didn't feel the need to share it with the public".
I don't know who's telling the truth, but I've never had any communication issues whenever I've been in Sweden. There are Norwegian dialects that are more difficult to understand than Swedish. Whore in both languages are "hore" and "hora" and "I'll break your legs" is impossible to not understand if you're from either country.

Re: UEFA Nations league
Yh you could see him saying things to Haaland which Haaland laughed off. I don't know what it was but i suspect it wasn't a "can i have your shirt after the game" and yh you could understand the majority of what Norwegians say if you are a Swede alot more than Danish I can tell you that much
Either way Milosevic isn't even a starter I don't even know why he puffs his chest out

Re: UEFA Nations league
It has always been this way. These games seem organized but the reality is these are same old friendlies NT have always had every 3 months. The only differences are the games are against stronger or more appropriate rated NTs and the other difference this year is WC doesn’t happen in summer, but is delayed to winter.

What's with Haaland not speaking to the media after games. How will he survive in EPL with that attitude

I was wondering about that as well. Seems like a few of our NT players have been instructed to not do so, for whatever reason.

Watching Spain - Check Republic. Asensio is on fire. First half has mostly been the combination of Solar - Asensio. He sure is a completely different player with NT. Must be something with system, but I can’t put my finger on it.

Ok he’s moving, no longer any doubts about that.
Another cantera, Sarabia just got the 2nd goal.

Croatia is so good. Modrić and Brozović are maestros of the midfield, very pleasing to the eye, tactically and stylistically
