France have been dire. Argentina will beat them.
Can't see it, Argentina's defence can't be trusted imo.

Current generation GOAT Messi vs next generation GOAT Mbappe.
I really hope so, but France has such a better team, more balanced, defensively they are solid, and strong in midfield, also so much up front.... come to think of it, two of the worst managers at it too, Deschamps vs Sampioli, what a game loooool

Nah most of the midfield and attack can be competitive it's their defence which is so, so uber trash.

Well, that was eventful. Argentina still look gash (as Mole continuously points out except today) and France would bash them 1-0 or some shit scoreline.
Needless to say, I thought (as well as Var) that was a stone wall PK and Mascherano running around with blood gushing out of his face for 20 minutes and the ref not saying boo was hilarious. Other than that, decent win.

Yeah France does have a more solid team in paper but it must be said that Argentina has also underperformed badly and never found a way to fully unlock their attacking potential which is imense.
It could have been a mental tjing for the group and passing through this situation might make Argentina a better team in their next game.Who knows? For sure the game will be quite balanced.

It's always the team that comes 2nd in the group stage that always manages to win it
2014- Germany, won group
2010- Spain, won group
2006- Italy, won group
2002- Brazil, won group
1998- France, won group
Don't think I need to go further
stop making things up
1994 - Brazil, won group
1990 - Germany, won group
1986- Argentine, won group
It's literally NEVER the team that comes second in the group stage.
Another stellar @guest7 performance

He was like a mad man. *bleep*, if I supported Nigeria in this game I probably would have found him as annoying as Ighalo

Re: World Cup (2018) - Group D (Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria)
Everyone has been hating on Higuain in here but I am going to defend him actually. Not for his miss. But because he was the reason why Messi was exceptional in the first half along with Banega. Look at how much space he created for Messi in between the lines. His 1-2s with Messi and him winning the ball high up.
Aguero is a completely different player and has no chemistry with messi. Higuain on the other hand is the target man Messi needs. It's just like how Giroud is essential for France.

Agree with this, thought he was very good actually. Sure he should have scored but it's one chance and very few strikers take their only chance.

Re: World Cup (2018) - Group D (Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria)
@realgunner with the trademark 200 IQ post. Bless you
The real villain is Mascherano. He ruined the landscape of the match for Argentina in what should’ve been a manageable game, having scored inside 15 minutes. He allowed Nigeria to park the bus and put so much pressure on his own team. I usually don’t fault players so harshly on conceding penalties but watch that replay, the guy was not getting on the end of that cross and Mascherano still decided to do such nonsense.

Re: World Cup (2018) - Group D (Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria)
It was so clear that Argentina was playing without a coach. They had no set plan at defending corners, the plan was to kick/ head the ball away any way possible. If Nigeria had pressed more they would've exposed the defence for what they were = 4 individuals+ Mascherano.
In attack, they just improvised. There was no set plan. The best players for organized chaos are Messi, Higuain and Di Maria. They create space somehow. None of those zillion attackers made a run into the 11m point. It had to be a defender

Re: World Cup (2018) - Group D (Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria)
No more Tagliafico please, I rather play di María at LB than that sad excuse for a footballer.
Pipita again flopping when it matters. He tried so hard, but man he is the biggest choker under pressure.
We deserved the win. Now off to not get raped by France.

How did you not like Tagliafico. He was solid and dependable. Earned his spot today IMO.
And you would rather have ADM? If I never see him wear our colors again it will be too soon
