Iceland to finally show their true level and finish comfortably bottom.
Argentina and Nigeria progress for me. Crochokia to be over-hyped and disappoint as per usual.

It seems to be a thing with Balkan teams. Remember the overhyped 2010 Serbia team ? All they could do is muster a consolation win vs Australia.
That said, i still think Croatia have too much quality to not go through. An experienced side with players who have won a ton of trophies in their careers. They'll bow out to France in the ro16 though imo(their most likely opponent)

What would be so shocking about it though?

It would be shocking, because the teams in this group are dog shit.
Luckily there's no way Hans actually believes that will happen, he wants it to happen there's a difference.

The biggest letdowns are croatia. Quality teams managed by puppets with no playing style.

Messi will carry them in this group, should get past Denmark/Peru in last 16 too. Real test will be quarters where they will likely face Spain.
Or Portugal, which will make things very hype.

If we make it to quarters we will have exceeded expectations

Re: World Cup (2018) - Group D (Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria)
Croatia and Nigeria pls
People acting like Argentina doesn't have Messi + the rest of the team which is so, so much better than Nigeria. Even if Croatia does have a very good team, they are coached worse than Argentina is. Lets not forget they were second to Iceland in the qualifiers.

No way Portugal are winning their group which is the only possible way they could draw Argentina in the quarters potentially
I cant see them beating Spain and i'm sure Spain's GD would be higher if they were tied on points
Hopefully there's a betting thread in time for the WC @M99 @Hans

Nigeria beat them in a friendly
And honestly Argentina's nothing special. The only good team in SA is Brazil and Argentina still barely qualified

Pretty sure if Argentina finishes second (which is very possible) they also meet in the quarters, could be wrong though.

In seriousness though I'm not gonna pretend I've watched a single Nigeria game since the last WC but they were actually pretty good then. Judging by their results in qualification they got better so who knows

Thank you. It was a big win .
I can say with certainty that Juve has no Nigerians. While I don't know all of Madrid's reserves, I'll go ahead and say that 99% sure they don't have any either
We are talking about the Argentine midget on the other side of the field.

I'd happily be wrong because it's no secret I want Messi to finally win a WC. But honestly having actually watched Argentina in qualifying they are one awful team. It won't take much to beat them

Actually yes, there's a chance.
But if Argentina manage to finish 2nd in a group like this, there's an even lesser likelihood of them beating France(their Ro16 opponent), lets be honest here.

I watch the SA as well and I agree. I just think you are overestimating the other teams. Croatia is one of the teams I'll be supporting so I hope they win the group but its hard to see. In any case, 1st or 2nd, Argentina is getting out of the group.
Anyway this is probably the group of death. Messi is just too GOAT.

Fair enough, I haven't watched them in a while so that's certainly possible.

Re: World Cup (2018) - Group D (Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria)
This is the group of death as many would agree. I am seriously worried for Argentina here since all three look to be tightly contested matches. Still they have to be come out of the group and should be accompanied by Nigeria. Croatia could run the latter close but they have shown a tendency of under-performing when it matters. So this time I am not tipping them.
