Has there ever been a more lucky club than Real?
This is actually ridiculous. This is not a joke or troll thread, this is a serious question. I can't count the number of times Real has benefited from completely insane refereeing decisions. Is there any precedent?

Clear penalty and a obvious red card. There was no luck involved.

At BEST it was 50/50. But there is no way it was clear or stone wall. To decide a QF tie based on that in the 95th minute is insane

Bruh Vasquez was gonna score if Benatia didn't panic and run into his back anyway, so I don't know what you're calling 50/50

50/50 in what sense? Player was about to head it in. Got fouled. Benatia kicked him in his chest.
Why would any referee let that go?

Its a combo of Zidane, he is blessed by god or something, perhaps for the pretty unfair ending when Italy beat France in the WC final?
And then Flo buys 'luck' with the refs pretty often so thats another thing
But seriously as well though, Real are just very good... they never seem to tire in these games.

Blame Benatia, one of the most blatant penalties I've seen in CL knockouts

Clear penalty, all the commentators agreed. You could argue about luck because Benatia made a stupid decision, Buffon was gonna get that any way I feel.
Buffon shoved the ref, and thats a red. But that did not account much. No keeper in the world was gonna save that penalty.

That's only a clear penalty if you're used to the English school of refereeing, where you give game deciding pens for the slightest contact in injury time
What it really is, is a disgrace.
Again.

Vasquez would probably have scored anyways since it was an open net oppurtunity, Benatia should have been sent off there.

There is the incident again. Watch the replay with slow motion. Benatia gets none of the ball. Pushes Vazquez and kicks him in his chest. How is that 'soft?' He clearly denies Vazquez a goal scoring opportunity.
Around 20-30 sec in that clip.

Re: Has there ever been a more lucky club than Real?
It was actually 90 minute winner denied by benatia jumping on his back...I don't know what your talking about.
Great game by allergi.. Totally exploited our weak full backs. Pretty easy tactics but very effective.

Re: Has there ever been a more lucky club than Real?
No, that was a stonewall penalty. Juventus bottled it, literally in the last second.
If you say that Madrid played atrociously bad tonight, I'll agree with you. If you say that Juventus deserved more from this game, I'll still agree with you. But if you say that we went through with the referee's help, I'll respectfully disagree with you. That was a clear penalty.

Its telling that two people in this thread who are saying its not a pen are blatant Madrid haters. Will be three when Harmonica logs in Even linetty agrees it was a pen.
Looking at the replay, Vasquez was gonna get that, gonna take that back. Benatia is lucky he did not get sent off.

Re: Has there ever been a more lucky club than Real?
It's not a clear penalty, imo. It's so-so whether you give it or not. But I have to say it does add to this feeling that Real have been quite lucky in recent years. At least this year there's a team in the semis that will take them to the cleaners with or without luck.

Nah, Im like 100% sure if it was City that would not have been given. Sterling yellow card would have been the call.

Re: Has there ever been a more lucky club than Real?
Or we could say that Real Madrid is unlucky since Vazquez would've put that in but here comes Benatia flying in to spoil the moment and for everyone to blame the ref for a "50/50" call.
