Quique's teams have pressed very well, organized, and played attractive football. I think he has a lot of potential as a coach, but he has butted heads with big personalities- so that is my one hold-back.

He's smart, well spoken, former player who knows our club well, especially the youth set-up given he coached Madrid at the youth level, has done well when he has managed top teams. Personally, I see him as an alternative to Lopetegui- different styles of play, but have a lot of the same benefits going for them, and he is available now so we can start going to work on potential players before the World Cup.

I have become less and less sure it really matters who we have at the helm since I am about 99% confident we won't win CL again, and the next manager we hire will probably only last 1 season.

If there is one time I need your voodoo words to actually work Nick, is now. A Conte hiring would actually have me depressed a bit. Don't think I can stomach him bitching about resources at Real Madrid or him falling out with half the team.

guti actually seen success with his youth team. Guti is more ready than Raul.

Dont underestimate a former real madrid vice captain's odds of becoming coach.

Sarri has no business here lol. why is he even being discussed? he'll have a similar timeline akin to benitez if he were to come. if we wanted him, he'd be signed up by now and then we will have buyers remorse come January.

quique sanchez flores... i remember him. well he does have winning experience in europe, even if it's the Europa League... used to play for us and coached our youth teams. eh i dont see why not.

It will probably end up being Conte. I doubt it will be Guti, but I have my eye on him for the future.

I can't see Perez hiring Sarri as successful as he could be, he has some abrasive traits that might take him out of the running.

Let’s correct a few facts about this rambling on re Guti.

His coaching experience is a full year of Juvenile. That’s 17, 18 year olds. It’s not professional futbol. In Spain we have 4 levels of futbol ahead of the Juvenile level.

As to him as a player, he was a bench player for the majority of it.

As to the vice captaincy, yes he was for the last couple of years at club, but only because of his years at club. And he had a horrible attitude for some of that time. Remember his performance and attitude in copa games under Pelli?

So someone is trying to suggest that someone who had a club career mostly as a backup with just one year coaching experience with kids is somehow deserving to be given the most difficult job (at this point in time) in
Futbol??

And re comparison with Zidane, he had player recruitment experience and an assistant coaching experience and a year at level 3 (two levels above what Guti’s kids are), prior to taking on the the big job. And let’s not even begin to compare their playing careers / experience!

Can you imagine going from a mature manager who never acts like a child on the touchlines and who always keeps his cool even when his team scores the winning goal in the dying minutes of a CL final to this:
Spoiler:

Please don't bring this joker to the Bernabeu.

Honestly wouldn't mind Conte, with the individual talent we have we'll always play good football imo and if Conte can fix our defense(which he's capable of) it might be worth a shot.

It'd also be interesting to see if he could implement 5 at the back here.

-------------Alisson/Navas
Caravajal-Varane-CB-Ramos-Marcelo
-------Modric----Kroos----Isco
------------ST----Bale/Ronaldo

hmm

Apparently the president of Real Murcia(club Guti was rumored to be taking over) said Guti will be the next coach at Real Madrid. ctfu if this happens, man hasn't even coached castilla in the 3rd division.

i dont think u guys fully understand the predicament we're in and the timing of it all.

our coach has resigned, very few options currently available, World Cup year.

personally I would prefer klopp but hes not available.
everyone else is either not good enough or have recently signed to teams that render them unavailable.

and with the world Cup at hand any National team coach is also out of the running unless y'all are okay with wasting one month or two waiting for the world Cup to end, im not okay with wasting time in the transfer window.
especially during this year. better to buy the talent now before their price gets inflated.

we got a lot of things going against us. hopefully we are point someone within a week or so. the sooner the better so that we can make moves happen.

with regards to Antonio Conte however, man i dread that loser. look, I get we're not going to win the champions League next year. but I would like us to at least put up a fight. like a Semi final finish at least. I still remember the days when we were knocked out at the round of 16.

i rather not go back to those days.

Guti would be made fun of two seconds after setting foot in the dressing room.

He better not take it or he'll get fired even faster than Rafa.

The guy in Marca who wrote about us wanting Conte and the other guy who also says we want Michel or Laudrup... I don't know who those jabronis are but if it's not Carpio or Jose Felix Diaz writing you can basically ignore it. Horse ass.

If those guys or other more credible sources report the same then it's different.

Welp, hugo cerezo is no longer a jabroni

https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/real-madrid-contacts-antonio-conte-the-situation

In the last few hours, there have been contacts between Real Madrid and current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte. Real have identified the Italian as the best profile to replace Zinedine Zidane. Suggestions were re-launched by foreign newspapers, but for now it is not viable, given the desire of the coach to respect his agreement with Chelsea.

The former Italian coach reiterated his principle: he has not received any sort of communication from Chelsea of a possible exoneration, and has no intention of taking the first step to do so. He is in a position that has become 'shaky' and has become annoyed, more for what is written and said online, than for the real communications from the Blues board.

Conte's major doubt on the possible position of coaching Real Madrid, would be to find himself leading a group of players unable to understand his methods of training. A dressing room has already formed, and are probably not ready to welcome a coach with new 'strong and decisive' methods.

It is difficult to reach an agreement, at least at the current moment.

"Strong and decisive" are not what comes into mind when i think of antonio conte or his style on the pitch...

but then i see its from di marzio's site. typical italian shills. we have been coached by his betters.

i do see however the dressing room coming into conflict, but not for the reasons these shills say.

If its really conte, I am really not looking forward to see how our team plays. i bet we'll even see 3 at the back at some point.
