Re: Next manager
its weird but i don't think i want zidane back . i'm not in the group that likes to poo poo all his achievements here, but i have doubts about him building the squad, we might just end up seeing the exact same squad next season, with some minor changes like isco asensio getting more minutes

Re: Next manager
Why would Zidane come back though? Nothing has changed. Maybe he was expecting to get the France job and that fell through? Idk.
I only see Zidane coming back when either 1) the team has categorically changed for the better. Or 2) he gets massive assurances to have Mourinho-esque control over transfers.
At least Poch or Allegri would be different. We have seen what Zidane can do with this squad (but with Ronaldo and more motivated players overall) it's only going to be worse.

Re: Next manager
if zidane comes back, benzema will be our starter till he's like 40, i need mr "i have now become the leader since cr left" to be gone and forgotten. he can take bale and a couple of others with him as well. lol best 9 in the world, combination of ronaldo and zidane, the lies we as a club have told ourselves
at this stage we are not trying to steady any ship, we are trying to get rid of the cargo, zidane is friendly with all these guys we need gone, e.g. marcelo, who needs to be gone too
we can't keep covering the crap with perfumes and incense, damn it flo, shake things up lol.

Re: Next manager
I really hope PSG sack Tuchel. We should totally be in for him. He was not the reason they failed. Totally individual bloopers lost the game for him. His ability to reach the opposition box is fantastic. Little prone to counters but that is the price we will have to pay for the control.
Re: Next manager
I actually wouldn't mind Tuchel if I'm being honest but I think that's more to do with seeing Solari week in/week out. I'll take Hala at this point...

I could definitely do better than Solari. His legacy will be that he was the coach of a side with the worst home record in its history.

Should have hired Arsene after Lopetegui. You'd still be in the CL.

Re: Next manager
I would have gladly taken Wenger than Solari. I would have taken a beaten up old couch on the side of the road over Solari.

Re: Next manager
we needed solari (i would not take wenger though), the way the season played out, and all the circumstances, were absolutely needed for florentino to smell the damn coffee, and also for the club to learn a lesson. you don't wait till the car breaks down before you service it, you constantly tune things up, check the fuel gauge, your breaks everything. if not you'll end up spending more than what you would have spent to begin with or even loose the damn car. lope and solari were necessary for us to shed the foolish pride.

ABC heavily reporting Perez called Zidane to bring him back, and they are on his decision. They are offering to revamp the team
Ps: if you post something, states the source because there are a lot or rumours about Madrid now, and we usually know where the good infos are coming from

Meanwhile Calderon (yes the ex president, criminal, serial alternative facts!!) has said Zidane was contact and flatly rejected any offer!!!

Re: Next manager
@futbol bill, check the wires again, he said Zidane did not accept right away and said he would answer in June as well.
@Doc, ABC are good yeah, they are seen a bit like a club mouth piece in spain. They are very conservative with their stories but generally they are good, they don't make shit up from my experience.
I like the convergence of stories, the Zidane thing seems very believable and makes sense to me.

Re: Next manager
Outside of whatever tactical stuff and player acquisition, Zidane's return would actually lift the spirits of the team and the fans. It's a win-win tbh and this time, Zidane has so much bargaining power. 3 CL titles in a row, God like status with the fans and adored by the players except Odegaard, Ceballos, Llorente and Bale lol.

Re: Next manager
I may have said this, but Zidane coming back is only a win-win if he is given Mourinho-like power of signings.
Mbappe, Martial, Aouar, Ndombele, Pogba, Lafont, Upamecano, Cuisance, Gouiri, Rabiot?
French revolution?

Re: Next manager
For the record the placesl/persons that I check for Madrid news: Marca, specially articles from Jose Felix Diaz, I like EC they have always been good; Jose Luis Sanchez.
AS are very spotty, they use a lot of English media's for their rumours, I don't like it. Spanish radio has changed a lot I wouldnt put on e ahead of the other.
@Hans well the story is that Perez called Zidane and Zidane did not give an answer right away because he wants to know if Perez is committed to turn over the squad.

Ødegaard told me he had great respect for Zidane, that one time I talked to him. Maybe that's changed since, I don't know. He made a joke in a fairly recent interview for Vitesse, that training with Zidane was bad for one's self-esteem. Don't believe I've read him say anything negative about ZZ. But yeah.. if Zidane returns and is a quarter as successful as he was during his last stint for us, then I'm sold on him being this god-like saviour some of you seem to think he is.

Re: Next manager
mehn, we can't be waiting, use this time to do interviews, get an idea of what kind of players the potential coaches want and then have an idea of what you want to do going forward. waiting till june is a waste of damn time, we have a 3 month head-start to undergo proper planning. sitting on our butts and waiting for an answer which might be a no is not efficient.
frankly, if zidane is not sure, i'd advice to pass on him because we need someone who has a plan , is sure of what they want to do and we in turn can make a quick decision and start reaching out to potential players; last thing we need is slacking off only to see the citys psgs and other financial players getting into the fray of what we need going on.....

Re: Next manager
in a squad of 22 or 23 at least, at least 2 players will have something to say about the coach that wasn't good for their self esteem (if that story is indeed true). there is no coach in any team sport who had all their players like them whilst they were still coaching them. its the nature of the job, hell its human nature, you can't like everyone, and not everybody responds well to tough love

Ramos and Marcelo, the two captains, may not even be at the club next season. So the possibility of Mourinho coming makes even more sense or possible.

I am mire excited about ZZ coming back than I am of us getting all these WC players out there
He'll get rid of Bale for us. We'll never lose like we did vs Ajax no matter how shite we've been in the season
