WTF is Qatar doing with PSG.
We could have the human rights derby in the PL if they bought Everton or something.
Proxy sport washing wars.

Chelsea was the PL villains of the 2000s, City was the PL villain of the 2010s, and now Newcastle is going to be the PL villains of 2020s.

Good luck trying to attract great players to live in Newcastle lol.
PSG is in Paris... a great town. Also, Qatar owns Bein who had just bought Ligue 1 media rights. Finally, PSG was and is EXTREMELY popular in Africa.
It was a much larger play.

newcastle will eventually have no trouble so long as the money flows, Manchester is also a shithole, look at City now, they just need to spend right the next few years and get the correct mid-carder in to compete for top 4, but I don't expect them to be a legit threat for 5 years or so

give them 5 years of competing maybe then they can attract elites, but yeah they can easily vacuum up the players a step below the elite
Lingard for 40M
Maguire would also look great in a Newcastle kit pause
Man City was taken over by Abu Dhabi by the end of August and they still managed to sign Robinho on deadline day who was pretty a big name at that time. By the following transfer market, they were buying the likes of Tevez. Its not that farfetched. If they manage to offer the highest salaries a lot of players are going to say yes.

Manchester isn't a cool city either, and players have no issue going for Man City.
I am sure if Qatar bought Everton and paid players the wages, they will get them with no issue.

Re: Newcastle United Watch - Jamal Khashoggi memorial edition
I see memories are short here, we had zero issues attracting players when we were good. Hell we had zero issues when we were mediocre.
The Location isn't an issue at all, if anything I'd argue it's the opposite. Don't believe me just look at pictures of the City on google lol.
I don't watch or care anymore I'm just pointing out this idea players wouldn't join if we were actually trying to compete is utter bullshit.

Unfortunately no, i just don't care about the sport really.
I doubt this will change anything, i would have been really excited 6 or 7 years ago despite also being really conflicted due to the background of the owners.

Oooof. Saudis got a lot of catch up to do. Only 8m in capital expenditures in 10 years, it's a wonder the stadium is still up.

The English Premier League... where all the clubs are owned by Americans, Russians, Asians and Arabs x)
I'm kinda done with it.

Because only English owners are allowed? Just like teams are forced to play with 11 Englishmen

I do think the German model is superior. The PL is just an investment foray or playground for foreign owners nowadays.

Please, the pl became the best league in the world by being a billionaire's playground. There are what, 5 teams with world class players? 4 that can do a deep championship league run? And soon to be one more .
Meanwhile look at France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Doesn't even compare.

Obviously the money has brought a lot of quality, I'm not denying that. Just personally I've started to prefer a more organic football environment. Rich investors & enthusiasts pumping hundreds of millions into a handful of clubs has become kinda boring to me.

Re: Newcastle United Watch - Jamal Khashoggi memorial edition
Why did I read negative things about city ( about some disavantage to convince big players ? )
Conversely, I believe Newcastle is one of most beautiful cities in England
Generally these speeches are a bit overrated.
Players go to play at Dortmund without any problems, and , German posters could confirm it, it's a really ugly city.

The super league was a 'closed competition' in theory
The premier league is a closed competition in practice
Surprised the likes of Kim Jong Un and Taliban haven't hopped on to the bandwagon already.

As long as you have relegations and promotions, a league cannot be considered closed. Winning a league may be very very hard other than the elite... but then again, Leicester did it not too long ago and Everton seems to be doing well.
It comes down to the revenue share from the media deal if the media deal is the driving revenue for clubs. In the case of the EPL, it is.

Re: Newcastle United Watch - Jamal Khashoggi memorial edition
So how are for example Italian teams supposed to compete with the oil money clubs?
not to say club owners with +10 billion net worth can buy everybody in uefa and fifa lol. let alone the Saudi's who print money for fun.
the club football is ruined.
