Re: Pep Guardiola - King of the Carabao Club
I mean, Columbus did think he was heading to the east but ended up west so I probably would be considered "Asian" according to that asshole.
Also, going by that logic, no one should criticise a single footballer playing because not only did any of us make it at that level (I certainly tried) but even the worst manager you could think of knows more football than us (according to that logic).
Also, I won the CL with fking Tranmere Rovers in my FM18 play through. When Pep reaches that level, come talk to me.

What's wrong with a German standing up for Asians?
They gave me Sushi, Dragon Ball Super and Hentai Tentacle Porn. It's the least I can do.

I would say yes but he is a Catalan separatist who would never entertain such an idea.danyjr wrote:Question for Madrid fans, notwithstanding Pep being a Barça legend, wouldn't you have him as your coach instead of Zidane?
But in terms of his value as a coach I think he is great, and superior to Zidane despite the CL drought. Pep really over thinks CL knockout games and consistently makes the wrong decisions, kind of baffling.
But I also understand futbol's argument about pep picking the easiest jobs, it's undeniable. City spent close to a billion since he joined them, not dominating the EPL with that kind of spending would be an insult.

It's all relative tbh, yes City have spent shitloads but in the PL it's not as crazy as it would be in every other league as all the top teams spend loads. (Except Spurs)
They have a competitive advantage but not as big as it would be elsewhere.

United spend it on shit because they can't attract top players. They go for past it players like Di Maria, Ibra, Schweinsteiger, Sanchez. Money down the drain.
Arsenal? Meh.
Liverpool spend quite a bit but also lose players like Suarez, Coutinho.
City are easily the TOP spenders. € 80M defender gets injured? Get another € 70 million one.

Re: Pep Guardiola - King of the Carabao Club
When a team can field two competitive squads, the whole relative tends to not apply to them. City has a huge advantage over anyone money wise. Not only do they have that sweet PL money but also loads of that sweet Oil money too and all the perks that come along with it.
Also, without money, they weren't getting Pep. In any case, Pep has had success outside of Barcelona, a lot of it but he did go to clubs that aren't exactly living hand to mouth lol.

The same can be said about Mourinho post Porto. People want established names for their manager, but it seems a manager just needs a little bit of luck to segway their transition over to a rich club and becoming a household name - and then their job gets a whole lot easier, unless they inherit a team that's in decline or lacking in motivation.

Arsenal spent over 100m on two forwards lol.
Also City's spending on defenders doesn't mean much, unless you think them overspending on Danilo makes it an impossible hill to climb.

Jesus you are miserable aren't you? Most of your posts are something about this forum being too dumb and childish for you so why do you spend time posting here? Go somewhere where your intellectual equals reside like 8chan or something.

Put it into perspective 2nd place Liverpool are 1 injury up front away from relying on origi. And one suspension at the back away from having to play lovren.

Tbh he has a decent sense of humor, relatively, for a German. I kinda hoped he'd come out as an Asian though. Disappointed to read that he's actually German.

City can field 2 different teams and still compete with any teams in the world. Liverpool are a world class team but Milner Henderson and gini are not what you call world class players are they.jibers wrote:Today I learnt City can field 2 WORLD CLASS TEams

But they make the team function. WC means absolutely fuck all.

Otamendi cost Man City 32m.
Danilo cost Man City 27m.
Gabriel Jesus cost Man City 27m
All of them are squad players.

Pep has a great squad available every year and yet you are here complaining about poor Pep having to play 30m squad players once in a while.

No one is complaining lol, it's the overhyping of squad players to further an agenda Jibers is on about lol.
Funny thing is the same players who apparently great when it comes to this are also considered trash by everyone on this forum lol when games are on lol.

Also if you're going to do this properly actually mention players like Gundogan, Sane, Mahrez lol.
You know actual good players who don't start games who further the argument of Pep having an unfairly good squad.
Not trash like Otamendi or Danilo lol, DAT feel when the so called "Pep fanboy" is better at making Pep look like a fraud than the "Pep haters " are.

Re: Pep Guardiola - King of the Carabao Club
The beautiful thing about shitting on Guardiola's head is that there's often plenty of argumentative substance behind it even in the most simple of iterations, and at the core of most of the arguments there are also valid attacks against tiki-takaesque football and the idiotic, idealized rhetoric spewed by melts like Guardiola and Xavi.
As reductive as it may sound, most of the time the winners in football are the teams with the best players, and aside from his time at Barca where he had the most extraordinary team of all time, Pep has only won fake trophies in Germany, and the EPL is a joke, who are we kidding? Pep has then been trounced time and again in the CL in embarassing fashion, making "what he stands for" seem like a big fraud.
Too bad Robben missed the 1v1 against Casillas in 2010, less people would be fooled today by romanticized idealisms.

lol 30m „trash“ is how deep Man City‘s depth goes. They signed these players for so much because they were good players, who turned out bad under Pep and then repöaced with more 30m+ players. Meanwhile you mentioned Arsenal who still have to play Mustafi despite being actual trash for years, just to extract some of that wasted money on him. Arsenal have to deal with the consequences of signing an expensive bad player, while Pep just replaces him in the next transfer window and still fails to complete the clubs main objective.
