Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
I agree with you casc florentino perez was once a laughable buffoon of a president, now he has 4 CL to his name and looks like a genius. The strategy since he came back, even though it keeps evolving has been very good. This turn to young players was really done in the pst 2-3 years. Who impulsed it? It's unclear so glory to Perez.
I don't rate Donnarumma as much as some of you but the strategy is good.

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
Zidane was the main influence. He's the one who wanted Varane, Hazard, Mbappe since he was 14, etc. He's also championed castilla players like Nacho, Lucas Vasquez and Carvajal. Remember that before Zidane, Carvajal was benched by Danilo because Danilo was the one management wanted to push.
Mourinho basically only trusted Varane in terms of kids. Carlo trusted no kids lol. Zidane is the only one that trusts the kids and empowers them... so buying kids is actually a good move as long as he's the manager. It would be a complete waste under Mourinho and especially Carlo.

Let's wait until they look like they can win more than two La Ligas in like the last 10 years before we start any proclamations of "dark ages" tbh
They've done well in the CL including the the easiest CL route of all time. They look in good shape but I don't see Madrid as particularly intimidating tbh

we won 3 CLs in 4 years, pipe it down, 2 back to back, the supposed greatest team of all time could not even muster it up, not even with intimidation
we have nothing to prove

Sign players like Paulinho and that 2 La Liga in 10 years would quickly change.

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
I have to agree 100% with everyone saying we will go back down to pre-Rikjaard levels once Messi stops carrying us. This team has been run by idiots for some time now and Messi has been covering up the shit trail they have been injecting but once he is gone we will not be much to fear.
We went through a very long dominant stretch, but in that time frame Flo and co studied and learned what we did that worked and have invested smartly, while in that same span our board has been in constant power battle with each and trying to also fight off court cases for shoddy deals. The club got too big too fast and these idiots didn't know how to handle the delicate gold they unearthed.
So yea, until our board gets replaced and we go back to the formula of before, I 100% agree Madrid will take over the mantle of dominance we had on both La Liga and the Champions (which they already have at the moment).
Our best bet is if big nose decides to accept a big salary to stay at Milan, Mpabbe surprises everyone and heads to Arsenal/PSG or some other club, and that Madrid go through a awkward process of trying to make up the 40 something guaranteed goals Ronaldo would put in once age truly slows him down/if he leaves, and in that time frame our board is replaced.
But I just don't see it happening. And I'm not even mad, I got to live through my favorite clubs most amazing run in it's history and I am satisfied. Hopefully things don't turn out as dim as I am painting them, but if they do it's all good I'll patiently wait for our next cycle.
I want to point out, that the Paulinho/Kondogbia/Lima rumors all seem like total BS. The only concrete rumor our club looks to be 100% focused on and seems authentic and real is our chase of Veratti and Bellerin. Those other names I don't buy, since they come from a bunch of random and bogus type sites and sources. And useless Turan is being shopped to Galatasary and Arsenal, the club is clearly trying to move on from the Lucho ball, as he was a total Lucho signing.

The criticisms towards the Barca board will eventually do some changes, I'm certain of that. Barca is too much of a big club to fall back to where they used to be

Interesting. Alexis Sanchez has been talking about his future while on international duty with Chile in Russia, and for Arsenal fans, this isn't wholly convinving...
Sanchez was asked about his next move while sitting next to team-mate Claudio Bravo.
•Q. "Will you be a teammate of Claudio Bravo at Manchester City next season?
•A: "[laughs]. Good question! Right now I'm focused on the Confederations Cup. When this is finished I will see if I stay or if I go. I don't know."
•Q: "Is it clear in your mind, or have you not decided?"
•A: "Yes it's clear but I can't tell you [laughing]".
I think now is the time for the arsenal fans to say goodbye

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
I'm feeding the Barca trolls: Barcelona confirm they have exercised their buy-back clause for Everton's Gerard Deulofeu (12M euros)
or am I?
Gerard Deulofeu created 43 chances in Serie A last season; Suso (62) was the only AC Milan player with more (Deulofeu joined in January)

I don't think any of us can "troll" the fans better than the club itself. Well, the current board that is. That being said, Gerard would be a good back up.

Deu is great, no idea why coaches were using a right footed player on the right wing, but he is a mini CR

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
As for Gerard, he must be having a really terrible u21 if he is as great as ES proclaimed.
Since throughout the tourney, he barely beats any full back he comes across, selfish without end product, doesn't pass well, doesn't trap well, doesn't shoot well enough, struggles to play either inside forward or winger role (right footed player on the right side is still a thing) and by & large a very frustrating player to watch.

Why? It's pretty conventional thinking tbh.
I mean it's obviously wrong for this type of player but it's not exactly surprising when people play a right footed player on the right side tbh.

I'm fairly certain I didn't say that at any point. I've been rather consistent not rating Gnabry that high

For that you wont even get an Odion Ighalo or a Vincent Jansen these days. Stop putting figures which were relevant like 5 years ago (I know your hidden agenda very well you pos and I know its to make fun of United when we end up getting him by paying obscene money in the coming days )Hapless_Hans wrote:I'd take Morata over Gnabry any day of the week.
