Well I think what LeSalt is referring to is that Durant didn't score a point in the third quarter or had like one basket (can't remember exactly).

But he had a strong first half and a great fourth quarter to win th game. Curry was amazing as usual. And klay had it going early.

What we're seeing is a difference in systems too. I know the warriors are super talented but so was LeBron's Miami team and they played some ugly basketball at times. This is warrior team plays the best basketball in the nba. Pair that when you have some of the best players and it's not difficult to se what's happening here.

if Warriors' greatness was due to a system it would be something that could be used by other teams. That system only works when you have shooters at the very elite and big guys who can pass and screen, mainly handoffs. Warriors have the 3 best shooters in history this year basically. Impossible to stop when they can shoot 45% on 3s and defend. I guess you could say their system is doing the job, but it's only possible due to amazing talent on both offense and defense. I'd call it more of an identity or philosophy of playing than a system.

Miami also had a great system back then. They were one of the best defensive teams I've seen. The pressure they put on was ridiculous. That was a defensive team who lived off defense to create the offense, which Cavs can't do because of their personnel. Hard to make a better roster for Cavs though. Might have to trade Love for Paul George or something.

It's their perfect system for their personnel, that's all anyone is saying.

Cavs on the other hand have built a team based on Lebron James, full of shooters and specialists. This is fine on one hand but on the other it forces Lebron to do everything.

In Miami they had people who could defend and create their own shot, as great as Lebron is this is an indictment on the East that this Cleveland team has been built with so little playmaking and they still have no trouble getting to the finals.

It wasn't much different in Miami really. Miami got killed by much worse teams than this GsW team.

Also I know what you're saying about the system. I just think you give too little credit to GSW's talent. Never before has this much talent been on the same team in their prime. Four all NBA players in their prime and 1 aging all star who can facilitate and is an elite defender.

We will never see anything like this team again. Jerry West is amazing.

The 2001 Lakers is probably the closest we'd get to a team that could rival these Warriors. I think Lakers would win but no way of knowing sadly.

In regards to Cleveland. What could they have done with their cap situation to build a better team? The big three takes up way too much cap. So they can't sign FAs and they can't trade for players because hey e got nothing of trade value.

My issue is they have two guys who can create off the dribble lol, the cap isn't really an excuse for that.

Look at GSW's bench for a start, Iggy aside almost all of them can create something that the Cavs bench can't.

Also i'm not giving too little credit to GSW's talent, i just don't feel like it's a point that even needs to be mentioned as everyone knows it.

My point is i think you are underestimating how badly built Cleveland's team is and fantastically built GSW's is.

Ignore KD and Curry for a second, the rest of their players fit amazingly well together.

To me theirs a bigger coaching and team chemistry gap than there is an individual talent gap.

Cleveland has extremely talented players up and down their squad, problem is compared to GSW their team is woefully built in terms of team fit and chemistry.

Outside of Lebron and Kyrie they have NO ONE who can create for themselves and others. That's a poorly built team, i don't care how you slice it.

This would be a completely different series, if they had just one guy who could help them out. But no instead you have a team full of shooters who can't defend. What that says to me is that, we need Lebron to do EVERYTHING.

As great as Lebron is it shouldn't be that way, the reason i brought up Miami is because it wasn't like this in Miami. They could beat great teams without him, Cleveland simply can't because they went all in we have Lebron card.

The money he got couldn't have been used to sign a free agent, which is my whole point. Cavs can't sign free agents due to cap used on their three players. They can only re-sign the players they already have because you can go over the cap to re-sign when you've got a player's bird rights, which they had in TT's case.

All GSW's talent fit together because they had amazing luck and amazing skill in the draft. Never seen anything like it. The Cavs on the other hand wouldn't be able to sign similar players due to the cap. They don't have any.

Also I don't disagree with the roster being built badly. But the only roster who isn't built badly in the NBA is the Warriors. Because the cap is quite frankly put in place to make sure any team has a weakness and a level playing field. Once every decade a team manages to amass talent that the cap can't hinder. Happened with Lakers and with GSW.

I didn't deny that it did tbf, just saying there's a lot of different decisions they have made which they really shouldn't have done.

I'm not asking them to sign some amazing players for lots of money, players like Livingstone could have been had with some foresight.

Problem is they have been obsessed signing shooters because we have Lebron and we'll get open looks because Lebron.

Honestly their roster smacks of what is Lebron good at lets sign for players for that.

We can sit here and debate all we want, but at the end of the day it is who the Warriors brought in this off-season. That's the difference.  I stick by my beliefs that this Cavs team is better than last and would beat the Warriors without the snake.

Anyways these guys will meet for the next 2-3 finals so we will get our revenge some how some way. But LOL @ anyone saying KD is now better than LeBron, the work load is not even comparable. If LeBron had a quiet game until the fourth they would be down by 50. He's their main scorer and playmaker, nobody on the Warriors can say that.

KD has been better than Lebron in these finals, not really interested in excuses tbh.

I mean it's not to say LeBron hasn't been playing amazingly or anything, but again this team is literally built by LeBron for LeBron's style, and he plays most of the minutes, and apparently also "saves himself" during the regular season.

If he's not putting up incredible numbers during the postseason, he is failing. He is though, so good for him.

That being said KD has been better. You can't be torched by KD on defense the first two games and claim to be better than him in the finals. Maybe if LBJ's numbers were so much superior regardless, but KD is putting up more than 30 points per game on insanely efficient shooting, and has been terrific defensively as well as getting his share of rebounds and assists. You can't play much better than he has so far. I mean the fact that Steph is playing so well and KD will still get FMVP says it all.

Also find it funny Freeza Mole immediately started the same discussion Freeza and I finished

I don't know what you guys are watching.. if I walked into a random gym and two teams were playing basketball, and one guy was the primary scorer, playmaker, and defender while the other team had one guy who was the best scorer, another who was the playmaker, and a third who was the best defender.. and the guy doing it all barely lost, I would walk out of the gym saying that guy is clearly the best player

I'm watching a KD who is getting what he wants whenever he wants against LeBron James.

I'm watching a KD who has been more impactful at the defensive end.

Neither of those things even close to be debatable, yes it's true LeBron has had more responsibilities in terms of playmaking etc.

But doesn't negate the fact KD has been doing whatever he likes against LeBron and been more impactful defensively.

Changed more shots, blocked more shots and overall just been more impactful at the defensive end.

So yes we are watching different things, before you say anything LeBron is still the best player in the world and that won't change until we see this consistently over many seasons.

You don't think the energy LeBron exerts on offense impacts his defense? Also, he's 32, played in 7 straight Finals with 2 Olympics mixed it.. he deserves a break on the defensive end

The more I hear about Lonzo Ball the more I fall in love with him. Hope to god Boston don't pick him.

This story about him is great: During a traveling team game when Lonzo was in 8th grade, Lonzo had the ball with his team down one and 15 seconds left in the game. He was on fire all game, making 10 threes. He drove the ball inside. His HS coach assumed he'd go and put the team on his back and attempt a game winner. Instead, he dished it to a teammate on the right side, wide open and he misses. They foul the opposing team. After the timeout, they miss the free throw, Lonzo rebounds and brings the ball up the court. Exact same scenario again. Lonzo has a chance to win it. He drives, and passes to the exact same teammate who is in the exact same spot, and he makes the game winner. Turns out, during the timeout he goes up to his teammate who missed the easy shot and told him "I'm going to get you the ball, be ready." In 8th grade.



Also if we pick De'Aaron Fox over Lonzo Guy shot like 20% on jumpshots and is a much worse passer.

Only thing I could say about LeBron yesterday was that I wanted him to drive more and abuse mismatches in isos.

LeBron's been the best player in this series, I think this much has been clear.

But being the best player in the series while your team is 3-0 down isn't much of a praiseworthy thing. KD will still win the finals MVP and deservedly so. Although Steph has been incredible too. I can't remember a more fun duo to watch play than them two.
