You don't watch Scarface for the plot though, which is fairly generic, you watch it for the outstanding performancesES wrote:I haven't seen Scarface but the sheer amount of memes/reference it gets in pop culture is offputting, same thing why i couldn't enjoy Star Wars, i just figured the plot beforehand. Part of the reason why i rate Mass Effect's world building as the best in any space sci fi genre

Btw, they showed the trailer for war for the planet of the apes before WW and it hyped the shit out of me man. Had legit goosebumps. It looks so incredible. Might be the 3rd best cinema experience ever.
Reeves compared Caesar to Batman in an interview ffs. Can see that.

Buy the ticket for Baby Driver then. Needs your money more than Marvel.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
I also expect all people in here whining about original movies in here to actually go and PAY to watch Baby Driver.
I feel like it's gonna flop, and everyone who will complain about original movies not being made, while they're watching Baby Driver on illegal streams.

Depends on which movie has the earlier showing.
@Mole MCU has 100% track record on positive reviews but a lot of people are saying its the best Spiderman movie ever and the other half is saying its at least the best since Spiderman 2.
So a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

Watched the Death Note trailer...
Yep, they made Light from the popular charismatic genius to prime candidate for a school shooter.
L
Light saying "we're not the good guys anymore" holy shit that goes against the essence of his character.
I do not have high hopes at all.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
Sing was exactly what I thought it would be, I would say like 30-40 mins of a 114 min movie were animations of characters singing. Wtf. Insanely simple plot that progressed predictably, and the humor was very average.
Only saw it because it was being screened at my uni's football stadium in a once per year type deal and a friend who I haven't seen in a long time wanted to go. Didn't have anything better to do. Ended up more entertained by the kids around me and the sky. But the kids seemed to enjoy it, so I guess that's more important than my opinion tbh

Legit gonna miss your hyping of the Planet of the apes reboots. Not that you've been the only one, but you've been the most dedicated. This last one will be incredible.

You think so?
I think it has gotten good marketing before the release, has stars, I think it will make good money.
Not on the South African stream yet, which I guess is good, I'm on holiday back home. Won't want to miss out on it like I did last year with Nice Guys.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
The Nice Guys was one of my favourite movies of last year. We'll probably don't see an original Shane Black film in cinemas again because people didn't go see it.
Seems like Baby Driver has done well. It needs to do really well to warrant more like it though. It won't happen if nobody buys tickets for the actual film.
