Re: UCL Last 16: Real Madrid vs Napoli
I hope we're not going to follow Barcelona like we did in 2013 and concede 4 goals a day after they did.
I respect Napoli and I realize how strong they are (if I'm not mistaken, they're the highest scoring side in Serie A), but we must advance in this competition. No excuse.

Well, looks like we are after all.
BTW, the Napoli fans are louder than Madrid's...at the Bernabeu.

Massive, massive respect for Napoli. What a team, playing like prime Klopp's Dortmund.

Ronaldo and Benz both missing easy chances, tho benz was a little tougher. Still shouldve put it away. Hopefully we keep up the same intensity, Madrid should get 1 to 2 if they keep this up. Napoli is very well organized

Napoli are terrible under pressure.
We are getting closer to the winner. Hope our intensity doesn't drop in the 2nd half. This game is perfect for Lucas ffs. James is leaving Carvajal on his own

Napoli yet to create a decent chance and Ronaldo and Benzema competing to miss hatrick .
Re: UCL Last 16: Real Madrid vs Napoli
This is the 5th goal we have conceded because Navas has failed to stay on his line. Jeez Navas, wake the hell up

Re: UCL Last 16: Real Madrid vs Napoli
So, Navas is definitely gonna be replaced this summer. Just mentioning that one time.
1st half, Madrid is currently playing with their food. Napoli, for all their pretty passing and I must admit, it's really smooth are not doing anything with it. Excellent goal by Isigne who reminded me of Del Piero's goal many years ago but they aren't actually doing anything. Not countering well nor are they defending well.
Madrid, well, better finishing and this is would be a different setting but I'm kinda glad it's still 1-1 at HT because a 3-1 lead would have just lead to complacency. Kroos and James not really offering much, Varane looks absolutely shaky as well as Casemiro and Ramos is on a yellow. Liking Benzema's football so far and Ronaldo is doing...something.

Re: UCL Last 16: Real Madrid vs Napoli
HT.
I think we were the better side in the first half and we had two clear-cut chances. Shame we're not in the lead. But we have only ourselves to blame.
Of course this is not meant to take anything away from Napoli. They were very organized, and I loved how their manager didn't jump up and down when they scored. I don't know him, but he scored a lot of points in my book for being calm and classy.
Anyway, we need to score more goals and prevent Napoli from scoring any more. We must win this.

Re: UCL Last 16: Real Madrid vs Napoli
Napoli need a good half time talk and experience in the midfield. Diawara and Zielinski together is too riski. Jorginho should come on and then Allan later on. Koulibaly needs more focus.
If the game continues like this it will be 2-1 madrid before long.

Ronaldo has been fabulous today. He is actually playing on the wing for once in his life and they can't contain him

@DoC calm and classy are the last things I would say about Sarri he is just smart and knows it was only the start of the battle.

@rincon: oh, my bad then
@hala: I agree Ronaldo and Benzema played well today. But I can't get over their glorious one-one misses, especially Ronaldo's.
But it was a breath of fresh air to see them both playing well for a change. Hope it continues in the second half.

Re: UCL Last 16: Real Madrid vs Napoli
Well, that probably ends that. A more spirited 2nd half by Napoli that was really only happened after Madrid took a 2 goal lead which says a lot (to me) honestly. Ronaldo, despite missing 2 really nice chances, did well today. So did Benzema. Varane still shady af and Modric showing he is quite possibly the best CM in the world yet again.
Anyway, you Serie A fans can now go back to hating one another.

Re: UCL Last 16: Real Madrid vs Napoli
Great comeback, although I would've loved if we had scored one more.
I'm also quite impressed with Ronaldo. I thought he was finished, but today he actually played from the wings and had great pace cutting inside.
Benzema upped his work rate and looked nothing like he had been all season.
I'm happy for them both, and I really, really hope they continue like this.
