A specialist says that it's likely Fraudnaldo will get prosecuted. I think Spanish judicial fairness will hang on the balance here. Messi and CR150 did the same thing, Fraudnaldo just evaded many times more. If they're not going to prosecute Fraudnaldo the same, it will destroy one of the first thing that makes the law, that it's impartial.

Wow huge developements.

The ex Refdrid board member, and the one who pushed for Messi to be prosecuted, is fired now.
http://www.espnfc.com/real-madrid/story/3012942/cristiano-ronaldo-court-date-likely-over-tax-arrangement-gestha-union-president
Ronaldo should end up in court as his 'image rights' structure similar to Messi's says head of tax workers union.
Maybe Spain will save its justice system from corruption after all?

Re: Ronaldo, Özil and many other: Worldwide Journalists Uncover Tax Fraud
Jose Maria Mollinedo who is the secretary general of the union at Spain's tax authority (GESTHA) had an interview RAC1 and confirmed that Ronaldo likely directed over 150m of income through tax havens.
Apparently, if found guilty, Fraudnaldo is likely to score a penalty of a minimum of six years in jail.
He probably planned this all, get convicted end of career, then get scored 1000 times more in jail.

Re: Ronaldo, Özil and many other: Worldwide Journalists Uncover Tax Fraud
harmonica, you should check out your facts before simply putting up every rag story out there. there is a difference between a tax audit and tax fraud!!!
Almost every millionaire workwide is undergoing some form of tax audit after the release of the panama papers, but having oddshore accounts is not inself illegal nor tax avoidance. That's what the audits are concentrating on.
In Ronaldo's case he today has openly released his tax statement today showing he did in fact declare the offshore income.

Can anyone think of a more elite rivalry in football? Unreal competitiveness from CR, do you believe he'll share a cell with Messi or will Perez' grease a few hands to get Michael Scofield to be his his cell mate?

Leaks are having immediate effects on Spanish judicial system fairness:
[1/2] Spain's prosecutor previously called for Neymar to be sent to prison for his part in corruption case over his transfer from Santos.
[2/2] But now the court in Barcelona has closed his case and Barca has announced the end of the legal process known as 'Neymar Case 1'.
[1/2] Provincial Court of Barcelona has confirmed the agreement between Barca and the prosecution over Neymar's case this morning. [md]
[2/2] In the judgement, following an agreement between the parties, Barcelona must pay a fine of around €5.5m for two tax offences. [md]

Re: Ronaldo, Özil and many other: Worldwide Journalists Uncover Tax Fraud
Once again, you can't even get your facts straight!
The judical system has settled Neymar 1st case with Barca paying hefty fines. Case 1 was the hidden payments when Barca acquired Neymar. That was tax fraud and with Barca admitting guilt, Neymar gets off as he himself committed no tax fraud re the payment Barca fraudlently withheld from tax authorities.
What you didn't mention is case 2 which is initiated by the third party ownership which was defrauded by Neymar, his father and Santos. I don't really understand why that case is being looked at in Spain rather than Brasil, but nontheless that case is still outstanding. And if the fraud is proven, the tax authorities will again be interested if it is proven that some of that hidden transfer fee went to Neymar and he didn't declare it to the tax authorities.
And how is any of this corruption by Spanish authorities!
I say in your quest to point every thing Spanish corrupt, you are missing the bigger picture.
Governments worldwide are seeking out rich corporations and individuals that are defrauding tax authorities. It is not just futbol players and celebrities.
First there are suspicions, then tax audits and if they find something illegal then charges are laid.

Re: Ronaldo, Özil and many other: Worldwide Journalists Uncover Tax Fraud
Until Ronaldo gets officially charged with anything AND is found guilty of said charge, it's all speculation at this point. But Ronaldo did in fact release his tax information to the authorities. See how that goes.
You know what isn't speculation though, Messi and his Pops are both criminals who tried to defraud the Spanish people by not paying their taxes. They both got charged, sentenced and subsequently released due to, ironically, a technicality in the law.

Ronaldo found guilty of tax fraud, to pay 18m in fines and get a 2 year "prison" sentence.

Now the real question is how to call him, Fakenaldo or Fraudnaldo?

Well that backfired, only seemed to fire him up more.
Surprised by the lack of a reaction about these news. Many people here genuinely acted like Barca were an organization of cheats for the tax fraud cases, and here CR gets the biggest penalty ever (over 4 times more than Messi's 4m one) and no one seems to care.

Re: Ronaldo, Özil and many other: Worldwide Journalists Uncover Tax Fraud
Difference BC is that Barca, as a club, was involved in the fraud and got fined a massive amount too. FC Barcelona evaded taxes. In Madrid's case, it's about the players... and they should be ostracized for it no doubt. But Real Madrid as an entity wasn't involved.
That's why it's an institutional issue with Barcelona while it's an individual problem at Real Madrid.

While some people may have derided against the club, most of the attention was on the players through, and RM have as many instances of players under investigation for tax evasion as Barca. I suspect if a RM fan complained to a Barca one about the current administration being a bunch of frauds the Barca fans would agree.

The reason being is the Barcelona and its players/agents/etc kept making public statements... it stays a story if people keep talking about it. The Madrid players involved basically kept their mouths shut mostly and the club stayed out of it.
There's also this slogan "Mes que un club" and trying to make the image portrayed with it... it was more sensational as a result.
Madrid isn't trying to fool anyone... both with the good and the bad.

Re: Ronaldo, Özil and many other: Worldwide Journalists Uncover Tax Fraud
Surprised? Sigh that's how modern media works. Fraudnaldo is their best whore, who brings the most money, so they will soften blows like this and over hype good things more. If you remember how Messi was treated, there were countless news over long period of time, for Fraudnaldo silence and then bam, done. This keeps money sheeps happy, and media on highest money potential. I've shown how Perez co. runs media many times, and this is yet another proof of that. And it's yet another proof, that I'm always right.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Surprised by the lack of a reaction about these news. I'm with sports. I doubt anyone is surprised when a player is evading taxes. Millionaires screwing the system. Hope everyone that is doind it gets punished for it.
The thing is Madrid didn't make a show out of things like this like Barca does.

Weren't Barça fans pushing the narrative of a Madrid conspiracy behind the Messi investigations? whatever happened to that " Real Madrid fan " judge?

Which puts another spin to Perez/Madrid not wanting to fully support Ronaldo on this issue, I reckon they knew. Reading my own earlier comment, my thoughts apply the same to Ronaldo.

Et Tu, Mou?
Jose Mourinho has accepted a one-year suspended jail sentence after being accused of defrauding the Spanish Tax Office of €3.3million (£2.9m) of earnings while in charge at Real Madrid, according to El Mundo.
The Manchester United boss, who spent three years in the Spanish capital, was accused of using offshore company accounts in Ireland, the British Virgin Islands and New Zealand to conceal income from image rights in 2011.
