Re: The Movie House - Part 8
I didn't think for a second Snape was evil. Always knew there was history and something behind his act. Even when he taught Harry Occlumency and was acting like a dict. Or when he killed Dumbledore.

Same here.
Oscar season is such a bitch when it comes to movie releases outside the US.
Hope that cut doesn't affect the end product negatively. Usually doesn't, because Scorsese usually films a lot for movies and then he has to cut in order for films to be considered at Oscars. I recall the same happening for Wolf of Wall Street.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Scorsese has final cut on his movies. He doesn't cater to anyone but himself at this point.
Pretty sure nothing like that happened with Wolf of Wall Street. It was 3 hours long.
Only Scorsese can make movies almost 3 hours and have them called short

One of the best action movies i've seen in a long time.
Great to see main man Keanu Reeves again.
Deceased at Theon's role and him speaking russian.

Snape was a creep in the books but likeable in the movies, even before his death scene.

Same lmao.
Will probably start tomorrow.
Snape was a creep in some parts of the films btw imo, haven't read any of the books outside the first two to actually compare though.

Snape seems less weird and on a re-watch. Hard not to look creepy when you're the oldest looking 32 yo in history

Snape wasn't a creep in the books. He was a biased dick. But a brave one.

Brave yes and tragic but a bully and a creep.
C'mon man we're talking of a grown ass teacher who bullies children because of his OWN guilts. He bullies Harry, a kid who was already bullied all his life before he went to Hogwarts because Harry looks like Snape's bully and yes he did save Harry's life on several occassions (and that's because he has Lilly's eyes and not because he wanted to save him). He bullies Hermione because he is a racist *bleep* and he bullies Neville because he is not the Chosen one and if he were then Lilly would still be alive. Everything he does is for Lilly, a girl who rejected him because he basically joined with KKK.
Snape was a brave man for double crossing someone who can actually read your mind but he is not a good guy or a hero. The last part redeemed him somewhat but he still remained a bully and a creep for most of his life.

Snape was written perfectly. First time reading through you'll mostly only notice him being a massive dick that does some peculiar stuff throughout the series for self interest. Later when he dies and you find out he's a good guy and happen to reread, you'll notice he's actually really a good guy that your perception was fooled into mis judging as a villain.

Woah, woah, I think you got the complete wrong impression on Snape. You are right that he hates Harry because he looks like James. And he hated James mainly because James took Lily.
On Hermione and Neville, it was just pro Slytherin and anti Gryfindor bias. He is the exact opposite of racist, he detests the word Mudblood.
“Headmaster! They are camping in the Forest of Dean! The Mudblood—”
“Do not use that word!”
“—the Granger girl, then, mentioned the place as she opened her bag and I heard her!”

I think my all time favorite HP movie is between Azkaban and Goblet, probably leaning more to Azkaban, love the whole time travel thing, +Sirius Black+Harry using the deer spell at the end

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Watched The Girl King....a biography of Queen Christina of Sweden, probably one of the most progressive thinkers of her generation and a real libertine. Very complex woman, but quite remarkable. I had never heard of her (although I know her father from my reading of European history). The film was average, but it stayed pretty close to the historical accounts of her which I liked after doing some research on her. Recognized a few faces in this as well (particularly the Swedish actors).

The Accountant still hovering at 8.0/10 on IMdb after 3 thousands votes. Even RT and Metacritic ratings going up. Seems like critics and their elitist attitudes misjudged it
Might still see it if 10k votes and it still hovering around this area.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Preferred the first 4 beacuse I was still a kid and obviously couldn't see the bad lines, acting etc.
It was a different series for me when I grew older cause it just wasn't the same as when I was a young aspiring gryffindor lad.
Goblet of fire is still my favorite followed by Azkaban.
