I really liked World War Z. I know it received a lot of stick but I enjoyed it.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Is Dawn of the dead the one where two people talk to each other across buildings via white boards? and then send a dog to help him?
I've seen it if yes
World War Z was a decent watch. Hoping for a sequel soon.

Did it though? It was received fairly well and everyone I know who's watched it likes it. Never seen it though. Will probably do it. That movie is apparently a great example of how reshoots can help a film. 2/3 of the movie was reshot after it had initially wrapped.

Won't say much if you haven't seen WWZ.
it's a solid 7/10 so not bad and not great. Could have been better with the budget they had.

Not really. Considering most of the budget was used for reshoots.

Probably had the same top 3 before Train to Busan as Freeza.
Dawn of The Dead from 2000s still my favorite but this is probably just behind it with Zombieland

Damn, gotta download that one again.
The message it sends is eerily relevant in today's world.

Skip Sully and watch one of the films from the list I posted in the last page in the cinema when they come out.
To satisfy the Tom Hanks craving, literally go on a binge watch with his recent films.

Oldboy (2003)
Don't know what to write.
This was both one of the most stunning and disturbing films I have seen. The acting, directing, cinematography were all excellent. That story though. That twist. That ending. Felt sick at times.
This film's final act was insane. You are just glued to the screen for 40 minutes or so.
I don't think I'll ever watch it again but I am glad I watched it.
8.5/10

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
if you're up for korean movies then watch A Bittersweert Life, The Chaser and I Saw The Devil you should like the last two especially
Also I thought I recognized the big (by Korean standards) dude in Train to Busan, turns out I saw him in some random Korean crime movie a few years ago lol.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Liked A Bittersweet Life and I Saw The Devil much more than Oldboy tbh. Oldboy I felt was very reliant on shock factor from the twist. But guessing the twist probably hurt my opinion on it. Feel like they could've masked it better. Basically why I'm not always that high on twist based film.
Still a solid 3,5/5 because of they great action and acting. The lead in Oldboy is amazing. Think he's also the serial killer in I Saw The Devil right?

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
yeah, I Saw The Devil was one of the first movies (if not the first) he starred in after his hiatus/retirement in protest of something to do Korean movie industry changing some law, I forget the details. He's the most famous/esteemed Korean actor ever. I've liked him in everything I've seen him in. I agree on Oldboy, but my enjoyment was ruined by the fact I'd known about the twist for a while before watching it. Like watching Six Sense knowing the twist.

Wasn't counting on hypnosis being a big part since hypnosis doesn't work that way but plot armour

Also really love Byung-hun Lee. He's so great. Shame he never got his world wide breakthrough, at least not yet. But the three korean films I've seen him in are great.
